I have these stone looking heart forms..I think they came out in the 90's..I am at a loss to waht to do with them and they came with the shop 5 years ago...If I don't get any good ideas from here, I am going to donate them to one of the local floral school programs...

Anyone have any good ideas??

Donate them, and ask them if they want mine too.... I've got old forms they don't even make (or use) anymore, like stryo open Bibles, Masonic emblems, Rebecca Lodge #100 Satin Ribbon (imprinted) and more...

I vaguely even remember these forms being produced...The biggest problem with them is they are styrofoam so lasing power is major....they other thing is that they look like a stone headstone...I would hate to cover it all up with flowers but can't see that flowers shooting out the sides would work either, They might look very nice included into another piece as an accesory but it would have to be a ginormous piece and very expensive...in 5 years I haven't had the inclinantion to use them, Donating sounds like the best bet...I have all kinds of things that aren't my style and I will never use...like antique looking wooden trains, bird houses, those coconut woven pot covers, some very old tf containers, about 30 mugs, 3 bins of low quality silk flowers, some onesy twosey baskets that are just not up to par for me to use...lots of wedding bouquet holders and lace fans...

If they look like stones (hard to tell in the pic) why not use them in a large dish garden or large floor plant. You can paint a poem or something on them. What about using them for memorial day?

The mugs (if they are not holiday specific) can be used for make someone smile week. You can do them on your own and take them to local nursing homes etc. I used some older containers for our christmas open house and gave away free arrangements. People loved them.

Wedding bouquet holders can be used for other applications. For example, cut off the handle and use them like igloos with the glue dots.

Just some thoughts.....

Can you adhere or stake an oasis cage to the front and design in that, get a few dollars for them that way? That would be using the piece as a backdrop to the flowers.

wow i should post my what the heck do I do with it list and see what you can come up with Flowerchatter03!

Melissa you're to funny but I'm up for the challenge! Post away and I'll see what I can come up with. I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking old things that people think are junk or trash and making it into something special. It's my speciality!!

PS. I was thinking that we all (I've gottem to) could take the lace bouquet backings and remove the lace, paint the plastic, place a blow horn out of the part where the bouquet handle would go and make it into a birthday hat. You can add them to all kinds of stuff for birthday arrangements. Just a thought......

ok i have some wicker baskets flat on one side that hang on the wall. think rounded bottoms.
i have some flat LARGE glass trays.... the trays are about 2 inches deep but are 10 inches across maybe??? I am at home they are at the store.
I have a pile of silks that came with the store.. ewwwww some have been donated.
let see what else do i have???? ummmmmmmm

Let's see...off the top of my head....depending on how many of those baskets you have, how deep, etc. can you line with plastic and plant real ivy or some other type of mixed plants/flowers so that people can hang on their porch or in an office? Depending on how big/expensive they are, you could possible make this a secretaries special or Mother's Day special.

The trays can be used for a multitude of items. You can use them for silk arrangements. Neatly glue in your foam and leave space in between the foam and the tray so that you can fill that portion in with sheet moss and then design away.

You could something like they have on All My Children and grow grass in them. If you could get them to grow quick enough, you could use it for Easter. You know, add some bulb plants, plastic easter eggs with candy in them. You could also use the grass part and then add some fresh curly willow (so that you can manipulate it in a wreath shape, etc, and have some type of keepsake focal point with an angel, etc.

This is just off the top of my head. Still working on it!

Silks are easy peasy. Just make up different memorial silks with them. You can also just take a bunch of stems, tape them together in a makeshift hand tied bouquet and sell those for memorial day too. Like really cheap. Check them out for diamonds in the midst of crap. Look for great foliage or small blooms that you can use to create silk corsages.....

Last year, a real estate agent had contacted me about an estate sale. They begged me to come out and buy a huge bunch of Christmas stuff. I was really busy at the time so I told them I'd give them $50 bucks for the lot sight unseen. Well, I ended up with a car load of stuff. Some was crap, some was fantastic. This lady had about a dozen small wreaths that she used for her windows. What I did was make up new bows and added a few silk scraps I had. Then I put them on stands and sold them as Christmas Memorial wreaths for $9.95. I sold all but one which made up for the money I spent on the entire car load!

FLOWERCHATTER03 YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

All i could see was an ugly basket but your right! If i plant them up with trailing stuff for mother's day..!!

I have done one of the glass squares in a silk.. its still here.. silks just do NOT move

Canada doesn't have a Memorial day but I get the idea.. my sidewalk days might have some nice hand tied's cheap!

Thanks!

Depending on what type of wicker, you also might try painting them for a refreshed look.

The glass rectangles can also be used for a mother's day special. You might try to paint the glass or use the colored fresh block foam and then design your flowers in. You can also fill in the outer portion of the glass with moss and plant plants in those as well. You also might try to make candy bouquets in them. Glue a block of dry foam (or styrofoam) in a portion of it. Fill in around with tissue paper (so you don't see the mechanics). Glue and tape candy to hyacinth stakes or some type of straight sticks. Arrange in the foam to look like a bouquet. On the other side of the rectangle, place a stuffed animal.

Still thinking!!.......

It's all about seeing product in a new way!
