I have a fun, but small wedding coming up. My hubby works for Husker baseball and one of the coaches is getting married. She has asked me to do the flowers for Oct. 3, and we are their host couple. She comes to me with two pics from bridal magazines that have viburnium berries in navy blue. Can't get them, so I try privett berries, no luck either. Can't use delph as it is too royal, and she is truly navy in her color scheme. Any other ideas...or sources maybe for silk ones. Other flowers are stephanotis, white roses, green hydrangea and white hydrangea.

The cool part is that rather than stems showing, we are using baseball bat handles. I am going to use an oasis igloo and glue it to the top. Hopefully, I can find someone to drill a hole through the handle so that I can also wire it to secure even more...then I will cover it in green felt to hide the wiring. Sound doable?

Any help appreciated.

Try Silk Botanica or Sullivan gifts for the berries, they have a large selection.

Why not glue leaves to cover the wiring, maybe even silk, would look more natural, or navy ribbon. Cute idea about using baseball bats for the handles.

On those handles, I would drill a pilot hole and screw in a deck screw right through the holder into the bat...that will hold it nice and secure no wire to deal with at all...

On the berries, no dice here....maybe use green hypericum with leaves removed and spray navy with DM paint....

I would head for artificial berries, and touch up any color issues with spray.

Love the baseball theme - too cute!

Girl, get yourself a small rechargable screw gun for your shop - once you start with power tools, you'll never wait for hubby or someone else to drill anything for you!

I love that navy viburnum--wish it was easier to find (I keep saying I'm going to plant a bush, but then never do!). I remember that hobby lobby has some single stem berries in a dark plum color--with just a little flat navy, you could change the color ever so slightly if you didn't want to actually order any from a catalog. Good luck--sounds like a great idea with the handle!
