There was a recent thread about vintage weddings that got me to thinking. I'm going to add a category to my web site Vintage/Retro and show one of a kind arrangements made in milk glass, carnival glass, whatever I can find at consignment shops (or in my store room) but made with cool flowers that weren't available back when that stuff was used all the time. I'm starting to gather things now and just picked up some cool stuff today. I'll let you know when I have enough photos to put the new category up so you can check it out. I don't have any idea if it will sell well but it fits our image I think. Anyone here have something like that on their site?

Hah! Great minds think alike.

WHEN I GET MY NEW SITE PLATFORM......I plan on have the exact same tab. But just Retro or Novelty, not vintage. Hmmmmm......

I went through an entire case of a yellow VW Bug planter with just some daisies, tulips, and one gerb. They sold like flapjacks. (retro phrasing)

Anyway, so now I have a whole line of them, even a Vespa scooter. Been making up designs in them a getting the images done, but I only just got this computer back on line this afternoon, the only computer I have with photoshop. So....now we're cooking!

That's funny that we are both thinking along these lines. I wasn't thinking as much of novelties though. I have organized all the retro vases and now I need to start making and photographing. That's the problem with all my ideas. They make more work for ME!

I love using vintage containers, They have actually been a great hit with our dried and silk arrangements. You can see a few of them on our Facebook page (Our website will be up and running very soon) I have sold quite a few vintage teapot arrangements, My husband loves to find me unusual containers, he has found quite a few antiques !! I love the fact that it really makes your Flower Shop unique to sell these items. Can't wait to see your new category on your website.
