Well I am sending in my letter tomorrow so we are cutting the cord would have been a better title, but I can feel the weight lifting already. We just signed up for a Florist 2.0 website and can't wait to get started working with our own products and pictures. Hoping for a smooth and FAST transfer of our domain name, as it is associated with all of our commercials and phone book ads not to mention business cards and so on. That is our only worry now. Dove will be turned off as of the 28th and we will be wire free!!!

I want to thank all of you who have posted to these forums, you have given me the courage to make the leap. I just signed up for pro here and look forward to being an active member on the boards. I have been stalking you ;) and want to say you all are great!

I welcome any advice on the transition. If any of you have any tips to making it go smoother or have changed your domains and have a rough estimate of how long we can expect it to take it may help me sleep tonight! Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for "Going PRO".... we're sure you won't regret the choice...

Strider will take very good care of you... and the only thing I'd caution you on would be to be prepared to stand your ground. The wires will offer you the world (seemingly) and they are very good using smoke and mirrors...

Welcome to the zoo~!

You will absolutely love your Strider site. They are wonderful to work with and it will all run smoothly. You will get lots of comments from customers who will love that your site doesn't look like everyone elses.

Once you get the hang of it, you will enjoy adding your own specials, photos, etc to your own site whenever you want.

Thanks all! I am waiting now for the phone to start ringing, TF got the letter today =). Can't wait to tell them a polite NO. Took my sticker off the door and put my Dove on stop so that I can still get any website orders, until they turn that off too. We will not miss them at all, I already feel 10 pounds lighter, I like this diet LOL.

This could be a new "fast" for lent..........................uhmmmmmm, Boss is shaking head, YES

i would love to rid myself of tf but am a big chiken, i sell soooooomany freaking kincades to my local customers... i am afraid i will lose so much local business. I am in a very small town and to lose 40 -50 xmas orders would kill me. these are local people who do business year round but have become loyal collectors of the kincade products...suggestions?

We noticed a big price jump in the kincade piece for 2011 when they sent us our survey back in January. It looks like they are going to be $89.99 retail this year. This is going to be a $20 jump in price so that may effect sales of that item. We have a loyal business for them too and worry about loosing those sales this year. I have heard that you can do a seasonal membership so you may want to check into that if you are wanting to get out of TF. We have talked about doing that but it is still up in the air. Hope this helps :)

May I inquire why you want to quit TF? When you talk about losing 40-50 Christmas orders, are these local people purchasing the keepsake designs?

I'm just wondering, because if your local base is hooked on those, you should probably continue on or come up with something comparable on you own. The other possibility would be to convince a fellow florist to order those Kincades for you, although I would think you would need to pay them a few dollars each more.

I would NOT quit if you do not have a solution to this, you need to please your customer base.
