Got an interesting call yesterday from someone representing a new sort of service , if you take their software at a cost of $10 to $20 per month it allows you to send and receive orders from other flower shop subscribers , payment via credit card with a 80/20 split, the cost is less the more you send. Don't know what to make of it but it can be viewed at www.helpingflorists.com . I'm just wondering if this is what Mikey was asking about a while back , if its legit or just another scam. Any thoughts??

Based on the names mentioned in their 'Who to talk to about us in the States' section, my guess is it's the folks from Reliaspider or Sproink? Looks like FSI is going to use this platform in the US which should make it interesting here as well.

Problem is ... how many members do they have??
Also, "Teleflora and FTD orders are reported just like phoned in orders." - At a per order fee + reporting fee.
Then there's: "Get paid on the spot for orders when you receive them: Whereas orders received Teleflora and FTD don't get paid for 4-6 weeks, orders sent FloristDirect over our transmission system are paid by the sending shop directly by credit card on the spot on an 80/20 split basis per industry standard. This means your cash flow from incoming orders will be strong all month long. Big checks at the end of the month may be fun,"
Um .... if you're getting big checks from the WS, you're probably losing money anyway. This setup is really geared to filling shops much more than senders. Problem is, you need senders for filling shops to have any orders. Given the choice between paying now, or paying on the 25th of next month for an order I've sent .. I'll pay later, thanks. Cash flow management has 2 sides.

I didn't in any way commit to this other than to have me send the particulars by snail mail , so that I could have a much longer look and to get it out where all my good friends here could have a look and discussion. Concensus says scam , so file 13 for their paperwork when it arrives.

I have been using IFA for two years now. It gets easier as florists get used to taking orders with a credit card.
