Weather Freak

i am sure my hubby already has that site bookmarked. :)

He shoulda been a meteorologist or a storm chaser or Karl Bohnak.

any yooper knows what I mean.... :)

OMG Mark!
Ha always knew you and i where on the same page. All our freinds etc call me the Weather Girl here.ROFLMAO.
Yea, I am a weather junkie.... I tend to hug tree's in lightening storms... and I like it~!

Nice to met others who are invigorated by natures fury. I still remember the spanking I got as a 5 year old, running around and dancing on the front lawn during a furious thunderstorm. My mom and dad were scared to death I would be hit by the lightening.
Andy and I booked last year's holidays on the Northern Pacific Coast in Tofino BC; they are known for their crashing storms in January. Got a chalet carved into the side of a mountain right on the ocean...cost a small fortune, but totally worth it.
Perfect, except, they never had a nicer winter. Warm, sunny, calm....so we spent the days hiking the Pacific Trail , and had campfires on Long Beach with a couple of die hard surfers instead. Never even saw a single cloud in the sky.
Wasn't what we expected, but awesome in a different way.
Now you want storms? Try Newfoundland! Hard to beat Cape Spear!

The storms in New Brunswick aren't too shabby either!
When we were kids we used to make capes from old blankets and go tearing out in the rain on our broomsticks - my mom nearly had a coronary!

two of the nastiest storms I ever witnessed were in and around Wasaga Beach, on Georgian Bay!...when the thunder starts rolling, and the lightning is dancing, and the wind is furious, and the lights go out, I am in awe of the insignificant powers WE posses.......and how ONE intense lightning bolt "could" power a WHOLE city, for an hour, IF there was some way to "store" that power!

BOSS's Quote of the day!

Some of the lightening storms we watch are just awesome! We go out on the patio under a canopy and just watch....so cool. That's when you know just how small and insignificant you really are.
And it feels really good~!

Very cool, I didn’t realize how many weather junkies were here. Thanks for the link, Mark, great maps.
Louisiana is a great place if you like storms, and this year the typical afternoon thunderstorms have been ramped up a couple a notches, I don’t remember so many of them being quite so fierce.
I missed the news last night, but hear this morning that we are in the cone with Bonnie. Normally wouldn’t think anything of it, but I’m buying a house and hope to close next week, but once there’s any storm in the Gulf, all work on mortgages stops cold until it’s over. Darn!
Favorite place to watch a storm? Schoodic Point, Maine. Fantastic spray with crashing waves, the energy is incredible.
