Hi All,

We are having a few problems with our website. We need feedback from people on how effective it is.

We are a Wedding Florist only, and work from home. We are looking at getting it re-designed (we did this one ourselves) as we do not think it looks professional enough. We want people to be amazed by us and what we can do.

Any input would be great (especially the Bad!!)

Thanks in advance,
Steff

As a internet shopper, not a web expert person, I think that the numbered bullet points should be combined into one freeflowing paragraph. Now it looks as if you want to take up space and it is clumsy. Your gallery shots are very nice, but wish there were not multiples of the same shot in the bouts. Not sure if there are misspellings or just differences in Aussie and US english.

The first thing that pops out at me is that you refer to fresh flowers and feather roses but most, if not all, of your gallery shots are of silk flowers. If I were a customer looking for a fresh flower bouquet I would not want to see silk flowers in the gallery . That might be turning some customers away.

Hello,

Thank you for your input!

We put dot points on the front page as when I see a website I don't want to sit there and read a paragraph. We believed that people will read the dot points more than a long paragraph.

With the Bouquets, there are two shots of each artificial bouquet, these are our samples and some jobs we have done. As we have only done 2 jobs as Rockingham Bridal, a lot are from when our Florist first started over 20 years ago, so they are no good as photos (some have been added into the Wedding Galery).

I do not know what it is like in America/UK but Australia, especially Western Australia is short on Fresh Flower Florists. They can create the other lines of Floristry with Fresh, but they cannot do it when it comes to Wedding Bouquets, so we try to push this point, as we prefer Fresh over Artificial, we do not have the funds right now to buy Fresh Flowers just to make up some mock bouquets for people to see. Most of the Weddings we have booked are Fresh though so we should have some more photos at the end of this year.

The Feather Flowers are very recent to Australia, only one person uses them in Wedding Bouquets at the moment, which is why I have a page of the dfferent types.

There are some spelling difference to US to AU, like colour etc.

Does anyone like the colour scheme of the website and the layout? What can we change of the layout to make it better?

Thanks,
Steff

I like the font, the design...

Don't like that the front page items are numbered, just looks "off".

Two things I like to look at on floral websites are pictures and the "about us" page.

Gallery: Like the style of it....it's pretty easy to navigate and I like that there are different sections. I think it would be neat if brides could search by color, too.

I know many of the designs are silk but I don't think it's super important; consumers will just be looking mostly at design and color and may not even realize some of those are faux.

It'd be nice to see a pic of the owners on the About Us page.

Having said that I have no pic of me yet on mine, LOL.

Overall I think it's good!

Very nice layout, I would un-number the bullets on the home page and just centre them under the line breaks, I do find the script font to be a bit thin and small, making it harder to read in spots, but I would not want it changed, just made larger or bolded. Nice colours and artwork though!
In the Gallery, make the links larger, and the pictures larger, they are a little lost on the page. This should eliminate the issue you have with the word reception not fitting on one line. There is a Gallery 2 link on the bottom bar, it's design would be the better to default to...not sure why there are 2???
Unless all your weddings are silk, I would only show fresh in the Gallery area..I realize it is a costly venture, but it shows much nicer.
Great job and good luck!

Seems to take a very long time to load

Spiff up your top menu -- There are many free JS Scripts you can use for a nifty integrated active menu that will look very nice -- this is choppy and for me the grey is missing benind events and the height of each button is uneven -- looks pretty good for home spun work
