I am trying to come up with "names" for the John Henry Co. sympathy images to post on my website and I noticed that BloomNet's (I am not a member) new web images have "names" for all everyday images (like Glorious Glads) but their funeral images have names like "Green Spider Mum, Yellow Alstroemeria & Green Gladiolus Casket Spray". Any thought/comments on this?

I've heard just the name is worth an extra $5.

I want everything named with a romantic label.

I doubt they're going for 'long tail' here. Naming casket pieces could be a bit garrish so descriptive terms are probably the easiest way to go. Teleflora uses colors or seasons in their product names. But somebody was really reaching when they called this the "Patriotic Spirit Cluster." :boggles:

I can see it now: "The 1-800-Flowers™ Mama's Goin' Home Casket Spray". :>

Clay:
Why not use BOTH a descriptive name as well as an item # (and display both prominently)?

Also, could you just name a page -- for instance "patriotic tributes" & show all the Red/White/Blue stuff. or Glorious Fall & show all the fall stuff on a web page ?

Just a thought....we seem to get a better respeonse from our customers when they like the names, as opposed to just generic or no names.

Regards,
Cheryl

I can see your point

I can see your point, but BloomNet did this for ALL of their funeral images.

Other names are "Green Gladiolus, Pink Snapdragons & Pink Alstroemeria Arrangement", "Orange Asiatic Lilies, Red Alstroemeria & Green Hypericum Square Standing Wreath", "Pink Spray Roses, Orchid Hyacinths & White Daisy Pom Memorial Arrangement", etc.

I'm working on my new website and naming each arrangement. Thought I was creative until you try to name 20 arrangements at a time, what a pain in the keister. Had to rename some so customers wouldn't guess what I'm up to in my free time; I had named some of them Apple-tini, Merlot, Cabernet. Watch out for the Jack Daniels arrangment, coming soon!
