I had a bride not too long ago that wanted no greens just a full round handtied bouquet of roses...I did all of the bouquets this way...

Now my question is on the exposed stems around the collar of the bouquet, would any of you been tempted to do something to conceal it...The reason I ask is because the pictures came back from this wedding and i some of them, the bouquets are showing the bottom and the stems are showing....

Is this ok if the bride does not want any greens or should there be some sort of tretment??

I get a lot of "no greens" brides but I always explain the stem issue and how photographers like to take shots of the bouquet from underneath. So far, every bride is okay with my using Israeli Ruscus as a concealing small collar. I tell them it's like we girls wearing a skirt with no underwear - then the wind blows and oops!

If the bride still did not want greens, then I would run with it - after all we work for them. I think you did the right thing by no greens even though your idea was more aesthetically pleasing.

Lori i used to be fairly adamant that they should have some kind of collar but a few have insisted that it is just roses and it actually works out ok. I usually just give them a small chiffon bow underneath so that one side is concealed.

I love an ivy collar but if she does not want greens then you could suggest a collar of gyp, very thin line all around. It looks lovely and also makes the dome a bit different.

I am doing one this month which is going to be edged in bouvardia and gyp.

i tuck in a very small collar of galex leaves (that cover the mechanics but don't show along the edge of the roses. I always explain that we need to cover the bottom but they will not show and most are happy with that.

I either use the collar of Gaylax tucked tifgt--- or Israeli Ruscus--I strip the ruscus to the top 3-6 leaves and make sure it can not be seen from top--but still hides the stems.

Thanks for the idea of galax leaves, I just had a bride and she doesn't want any greenery around her rose/gerbera bouq. because she doesn't want it to show. I like having a collar of pitt or ruscus just to secure those stems, othewise I feel I have to wire the outer roses.

I feel the same way, I also insist on covering the back of the bouquet minimally with a few single lemon leaves, close to the stems as to not show. I have never had a complaint.
