I am doing a wedding and the 6 bridesmaids are all wearing a different
color dress.

Instead of making a multi-colored bouquet for each one, I was
thinking of doing a solid color bouquet to match each dress and then
multi-colored for the bride.

Then I thought what if I did an all-pink bouquet and had the aqua dress hold it and mix match.

Just wondering if anyone
had some thoughts on this.

If all the dresses are of different color. I would use a color flower, something elegant like a green cymbidium orchids, Or if the price is an issue you can use green spiders, jade roses, green alstro. I would just use one kind of flower it gives the bouquet more of an impact. I always feel the celedon or green color is rich when use alone.

We did a wedding where the bridesmaids bouquets were all the same but each bouquet had a flower in it that was unique to that person. Only used in that bouquet. No where else in the wedding. The bride looked up the meaning (I think) and presented them with a gift and card that explained why she choose that flower for that person. It was really neat. Just a thought for you....

What you re describing is a "rainbow"wedding -- at least that's what we called them in the late 1960's early 1970's.

The girls all wear different dress colors. YOUR FLOWERS, usually done in 1 color, or co-ordinating color -- become the unifying force of the wedding.

In other words, it works well if the BM all carry the same color of flowers that contrast nicely against their dresses. The bride can then carry a bouquet that pulls in all the colors of their dresses, and their flowers -- into her bouquet. Many variations on this theme also.

Have fun....it works.

I remember seeing a magazine layout of a wedding in which all Maids (about 6) wore different colored jewel-toned dresses and they each carried a bouquet that matched their jewel-tone. The colors were sage, purple, blue, ruby, pink and yellow - they all worked together well. It was a great look and I'd love to have that kind of wedding!

But the clincher is that the jewel-toned dresses really worked well together. The colors were rich and muted and complimented each other.

If your dresses are super bold colors, then I like the idea of the girls carrying the same monochromatic bouquet - the bouquet would be a subtle accessory to tie the girls together. Then for the Bride, I'd give her the multi colors of the Maids' dresses. JMHO

oh my, Carol's post rings so true... Rainbow weddings....in the 70's..
We did so many daisy colonials with (ugh) baby's breath and ribbons to "match" the maid's dress..... The MOH had roses in her colonial and the bride carried white roses with the ribbon colors of the maids dresses........ugh........ugh...............ugh
I like the green theme.........(but then I love anything natural green)

I have a slideshow on my website where the bride did something similar except the attendants were all in a black/white dress. They each carried a different colored bouquet and the bride's was multi-colored. There are many ways to do this. I love the idea of using only one kind of flower in each matching color bouquet!

OMG, that brings back memories. My wedding 32 years ago was rainbow style. Each bridesmaid carried flowers to match their dress color. All the same flowers. 32 years ago we did not have the variety that we have now. I like the idea of the green flowers, but then again, bouquets of different flowers for each bridesmaid is a good choice. I wonder if this will become a new trend. In the 70's it was pastel and it looks like jewel tone for now.

I like the idea of monochromatic, monobotanical, each one a different color.

Not sure I like the idea of the brides being a mix of colors, but a mix of flowers would be good.

I like monochromatic colour schemes like you suggested, with the dress and the bouquet matching but each bm different.

Why not do an all white or all ivory bouquet for the bride, this would be in keeping with the bm theme?

remember that 'same color as the dress' bouquets are barely noticable....
also....what are you going to do with all the leftovers (unless you charge for them) ?
