This is a Power Point presentation of a Down on the Bayou Wedding.
Flowergirl1972 emailed this to me.

I also wanted to test this free download site.

Note: This Powerpoint will be available for 1 week only.

If you haven't traveled along the Bayous, you may have trouble getting a handle on this type of wedding!!! Thanks, Glenn

Oh me, oh my, OH...

I just had a bride come in for her August wedding, where the men in her wedding party will be wearing camo vests.... "Mossy Oak camo" to be specific.

It was fun trying to find some camo ribbon to use -- but I did!

Don't think it will be as gung-ho as that one, though!

Talk about a theme wedding! They certainly carried their theme well throughout. To each his own.

For some reason, it won't play for me. I just see ads, one after another, and it says the download will start in 60 seconds, but it never does.

Bummer.

Beth it did that to me too. My browser blocked it until I clicked my permission to download it.

Hi V,

Well, I clicked permission to download too. But then it gave me the Zwinky ad, then the Smokey Bear ad over and over... like a loop. Weird. Oh well.

Beth :~)

Sorry. . . I should have known. .

That nothing is really FREE...

I had to wait for the count down then it allowed me to download.

I can email to anyone who wants to PM me.

Well I can give you a synopsis...

Think Deliverance meets Thelma and Louise, add a lovely version of Down on the Bayou, mee ooo my oooo... and you get the gist. ;)

Beth, it's a wedding party on a river (Bayou?) where all of the groomsmen are dressed in camoflauge (sp?) pants and T-shirts. The bridesmaids are dressed in long, sleeveless dresses (cotton? very appropropriate in the sweltering weather). Guests are dressed very casually and sitting in lawn chairs. The wedding cake is decorated with little ducks and made to look like a pond (or maybe the river). There is a picture of a car tag imprinted, "I'd rather be fishing," and above that someone has written by hand "Just Married." I think the ceremony actually took place on a dock, obviously outside someone's home. Just another home wedding???

I'm sure that the wedding was exactly what the bride and groom wanted. I see no more reason to criticise this wedding than any of the other theme weddings I've seen or heard about. They obviously weren't trying for elegance. Just a bunch of Good Ole Boys and Girls having a good time while a couple of them are tying the knot, so to speak.

Connie,

How could you forget the catfish part of the wedding cake?!?!?! Hey, nothing wrong with the Bayou wedding...Remember this post about the wedding in the funeral home?

Hey Diane,

The chimps aren't looking so bad now...are they ;)

Don't forget the cattails sunk into the cake either! Rock on! The Bayou wedding looks like it was a hoot!

For those curious about Heather's post above...she is referring to the two real chimpanzees my daughter is having as her flower girl and ring bearer at her November 16th wedding in Center City Philadelphia. The chimps are to blow raspberries at the guests as they come down the aisle. Nothing conventional for my actress daughter...she will be performing for the guests cabaret style with a band whose lead singer is a drag queen. Absolutely no electric slide or chicken dancing at this event! She is having s'mores stations (the bride & groom's fav treat)! old fashioned photo booths for guests pics, and we are to play games that include pin the ball and chain on the bride and groom! Who knows what else she will come up before November! It's her day...so Momma says, "Whatever you want, honey"! I'm sure the guests will be in for some unusual surprises!

Looking for ideas for her flowers...she is wearing T-length ivory satin retro style halter dress, with an old fashioned style large brimmed hat/veil, attendants in black...she loves the unusual...ahem...with a twist of elegance. Give me some feedback for bouquets and decorations, please!!!

How could I, indeed! That was probably my least favorite part of the wedding. I also forgot to mention that dresses worn by the ladies in the bridal party were also of the camouflage. I found my dictionary

IN the Spring/Summer issue of Charleston Weddings magazine, there is a picture of a wedding cake with cattails. No plastic ducks, though, and I'm certain that the Charleston cake cost tons more than the Bayou cake.

I think this is great. Very unique and certinally brings out personality!!
(it is not me... but) I would be excited to do a wedding like that. Not the same old same old. No brides asking "what am I suppose to do?" I always say, you do what you want... its YOUR wedding.

Google Search

Try a google search for camouflage wedding and you might be surprised (or not!) to find that you can even order your cake toppers dressed in camo, actually lots of stuff on the web for just such an occasion.
