How many of you weigh your product for correct pricing? I've worked at many shops and it is surprising how many people calculate 10stems/bunch on products such as bb, limonium, xmas greens, etc that are SOLD by WEIGHT!

you may be cheating yourself on profit, and cheating your designers on usuable product. With xmas coming just thought I would bring this up. we purchased a grocery store/culinary digital scale and have taken the guess work out of pricing.

the problem with that if you sell by weight, legally your scales have to be inspected and labeled by the bureau of weights and standards. If they are off, you can get a fine. We just mark-up and divide. Say you have 20- 2lb bunches of cedar . Mark up your cost per bunch times 3. Your not going to lose if you sell say half a bunch for half. Same with gyp and limonium.

I think using the scale has merit. Bunches of calcynia etc are hard to price by the stem, if you weigh, bunch and price it before placing it into the sale cooler it would be easier.

I wouldn't display in cooler xxx for $/#

we have used a scale to weigh Christmas greens especially those we cut ourselves. We calibrate our scale with a 1# weight.
