I am owner of a florist I opened 8 years ago, and I'm loving it! If you would've talked to me about my shop even 2 years ago, I would've said something different.
I have found that I must actively look for ways to be inspired, and whenever I do, my business becomes fun and interesting, again! It's easy to get bogged down in the details of the business, before you realize you're just going through the motions. Just a reminder to all of those hard working florists out there.

My question to you is, what inspires you?

I get inspiration from all things creative.
I love fun, I love funky, I love bling, I love couture, fashion, art,
even music.

I have this crazy thing I do sometimes when I am in my groove.
I move my head from side to side and humm "Dont you wish your
girlfriend was hot like me' That is some good design moves right there.
Have fun on FC!!:poke:

You are so right about the need for inspiration. Money/ Income is motivation for me to get inspired I go to Ubloom.com Jay is very inspiring,Florist Review magazine and checking out FC pics and other websites on FC.
The individual styles are amazing to see.
My new goal is to get out /network and go to more shows so I dont feel so alone in my struggle.

Travel inspires me, doesn't matter where. Just getting away from the usual scenery does something good for my mind and the ideas come.

Closer to home, other people's creativity inspires me, not to copy but just to get my mind going. So, art galleries or any place where creative people's work can be seen.

This place inspires me too. Lots of creative brains here.

Pretty much the same as you Robin, travel and rest are a great inspiration as you get to focus on things. I love to visit other florist shops, not to copy also but to be inspired by...

Love to look at the gallery on here as well, looking at competition work really inspires me to do more creative stuff (not just commercial profit making designs).

I am personally inspired at how lucky i am to be born into a civilised country, to be able bodied and my children to be healthy, thank god.

Boss, when my children are a few years older and need me to be around less it is my intention to give my spare time to people who could benefit from any time i could offer!!

I'm inspired by things outside the little world within my shop. Unfortunately, most of us spend all our time in that little world. Check out where I post some inspiration on the AFH web site. My favorite sections are "Flowers around the World" and "Flower Shows"

I can be inspired by many things...

The most inspiring is getting a much needed break from the norm...Wether it be getting away for a couple of days or just a day away from my normal everyday errands.. I need a recharge to get a fresh new look on how great my life is and how lucky I am that I love my day to day job...

Also listening to someone who hates their job inspires me, because it reminds me how great a career I have chosen..

Nature and fun stuff are big ones to. Nature becaue or the esthetics of it inspires my brain for shapes and flows...Fun stuff (like childrens bedroom textiles or toys or carnivals, fairs etc) because of colors and textures, gives me inspiration to create things that mimic those fun things.
Fun and nature are good sellers...

On a side note, some of the best selling baby arrangements I have made in my life are safari themed baby arrangements, nature inspired the style, fun inspires the colors, pop in a lion, monkey, elephant or hippo and voila you have a best seller and it moves the less popular stuffed animals..

My favorite sections are "Flowers around the World"
Oooohhhh Aaaaahhhhhh... Awesome stuff....!!!
