You use these often in your work.....maybe....

If those of you "down under" know, please PM me your answer, those of you in other areas can inquire here ;)

More clues to follow...

They are nice. It reminds me of wooded Vases I picked up at the trade show earlier this year. The vases, bowls etc are made from Mango accent wood.

You can view it on their site at: http://www.allthingsasian.ca

I got a favourable response to this product and I am pretty sure they will ship to the US. Very nice people to work with also. Tell them who sent you!

In the spring I did a few with flowers and they sold right away.
Right now I have some with fall artificials flowers and they look great.

BTW I think they are Honey Vases/chandalier

Looks kind of like Cholla wood, bird /lizard supply turned art.

is it that foolish stick with the seeds inside that kids love to rattle only with the bark taken off? real technical today aren't I

DING ding ding... We have a WINNER!!!

It is indeed a Banksia Protea, lathe turned.... some of them are even fuzzy....

So are you going into the wood working biz and giving Joe a run for his tools?

They are very cool. My cousin's wife brought me back a tiny one from her trip last year. Mine even has a bit of turquoise inlay. Kind of looks like this one but much smaller:

So do you fly up there or angle? Ever try the "Blue Silver Fox" spinner? It's my secret weapon.
Several ways....

Down riggers with Chartreuse Night Glow J-plugs... fishing in 150 ft of water, down about 80-90, also down 135...

Meat Rigs on Lead Core line. Lead Core sinks on it's own... meat rings have a piece of Herring on them...

Spinners during the day...

This time of the season, as the Salmon are staging for the run up the rivers, you want to get the ones down deep still hanging in cold water 40-50 degrees... meats much better

Nope... no time... Salmon are running, and this is the last weekend to fish 'em....

Waite. They are just starting to run on this side of the state. Extend your season with a Road trip!

lake MIchigan temps have dropped into the 50's already. NO swimming this labor day weekend.

We fish out of Ludington... they are starting to stage for the run up... been there every weekend for the last 4, this will be the last one for us, but it's a 5 day weekend!!

Fish ON!

My husband gave me one of these a few years ago, that he picked up from a specialty wood store here in town...so cool to see another face of a flower that we use all the time.
Thanks!

What they are.....is something for the tourists!

No Australian tourist town is complete without at least three shops selling banksia candlestick holders!

Almost kitschy enough to be cool, you can often find them in retro/antique stores. I do have a thing for Art Deco design and kitsch so I am always checking out 2nd hand furniture & bric-a-brac stores, but these......don't quite suit my style.

This is another case of 'what is exotic to you is mundane to me'. Cool to see them on the other side of the world though.

I would love to try this, maybe next year I'll fly up there if you can get a free afternoon?
