I need an ark today and now we have a tornado warning for our area. Winds blasting to 65mph, planes grounded at O Hare

Luckily my new roof is keeping us nice and dry. :)

OH GEE< the weather man just said take cover we're getting HIT HARD>

It's apparently heading our way, however they have been threatening us with loads of rain for days now.

However, to be on the safe side, I'm off to the park a little earlier today.

I've become sort of jaded with the meteorologists here. they profess bad weather, interrupt programing and run endless banners along the bottom of the tv screen, screaming out bad weather - that never seems to materialize.

This is Michigan folks, we seem to get weather swings off the lake all the time. but you would think its the first time ever, the way the weather guy's screech.

I keep telling my hubby, someone in our family should have been a meteorologist - they can be wrong all the time, yet still keep their JOB>

oh and the rain has stopped now it's getting breeze.

Look out MIDLAND it is tracking your way.

Here in Ma. it's 70 degrees and everyone thinks it's summer! Until today I have had a busy October but today it's dead. Don't know if it's the nice weather or what. If I had someone else working today I'd give myself the day off.

I thought it was just Texas.

Sunday, out of nowhere, we heard a roar and stepped outside to see a big white looking cloud with the deafening roar coming out of it, then the golf ball sized hail covered the ground.
After the roar passed over us, the Baseball sized hail came!

There are mature oak trees all around the house and we could hear the giant hail breaking limbs off the trees and hitting the ground with loud thuds, when it let up a bit I made the mistake of going into the back yard. Two hail stones larger than baseballs hit 6 and 8 feet from me. Made sure I collected some of them for the insurance people to see.

I called the 911 system for the larger town just north of us, they put out an alert. Within a 35 mile square to the north and south of our home, there were two tornado's in less than an hour. Lots of damage. I feel for those folks. Thankfully it is very rural.

In all my 59 years, I've not seen hail that big. God is good all the time, he allowed it to just pass above us. It did bring in the cooler winds, maybe fall is really here now.

Ring, Ring...hi insurance man, got some auto claims for ya'...

It rained yesterday off and on. It has been extremely windy since last night. Today its about 45 degrees and the West part of the State received the first snow of the year. Winter is coming...
