My Favorite Music-Christmastime!

Oh Doug! You and I are totally kindred spirits! I really have to meet you one day! My absolute favorite Christmas carol is Oh Come Emmanuel! Simply glorious music!

I absolutely love, love, love Trans Siberian Orchestra. If you have never seen them perform at Christmastime, you must make it a priority for 2008! They absolutely instill the Christmas spirit to your heart and soul!

Anything by the TransSieberian Orchastra & Manhein SteamRoller!!

Tom (my husband) & I got to see the TS Orchestra in 2006 -- their Christmas show -- when it came to the 'burgh in early December. I Knew what to expect & got us good seat in the Mellon area. Tom did not have a clue when we went in. The show started.....and I was overjoyed & blown away!! Tom later claimed that he was deaf & blind for at least the next 4 days!! (Next time I'll pick better seats.). I was only disappointed that Manheim Steamroller was not with them that time. (I love the Calyaphy).

My nest favorite, anytime at all songs are: "Amazing Grace" & Bach's "Ode to Joy" & also Trumpets Voluntare ......I spend way too much time at weddings, can you tell?

Last night I listened to the Three Tenors on PBS for the umpteenth time when they did their Christmas special. That's as good as it gets.

It's tough to narrow it down! I have lots of favorites, including Dianne's TSO Canon - love that song.

I'd have to say any Christmas song sung by Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra ..... something about those old voices brings me back to a vision of an era I never knew - a romantic delusion of a perfect world, a long time ago. Their velvety voices remind me of that time.
