What kind of fern is this (the one at the base with the place cards) and do you have a source? It looks like maiden hair, but I'm not sure. I checked out Greenpoint and 800greens websites and didn't see anything similar and not sure what to ask for specifically.

Thanks!

It's just plain old maiden hair fern, VERY VERY VERY fragile. likes to curl up and DIE! I promise it's madien hair fern.

good luck.

It looks like maiden hair fern to me. And Whoah, didn't know that there were so many kinds of it!

I know this is a crazy idea, but you could always try flat leaf italian parsley. You could buy a few flats of it now and let it get fuller until the date. You wouldn't have to do anything to it...and you could just stick the place card holders into the plant cells and hide the edges of the flats. Just a thought. We have done it with wheatgrass several times and I love the look, plus EASY!!!!!

That's brilliant! Thanks! I'm already using a lot of other herbs so that will mix in nicely.

GREAT idea! In fact, looking at the photo of the Maiden Hair fern I think that
is a flat of it as well. I grow this fern on my porch at home...it need LOTS of
water.

I don't know anything that looks like maiden hair. Maiden hair is pretty flat, but kinda floppy.

Star asparagus aka deflexus is more simular to springerii, but not as stiff, Toward the tips the stems can be soft. But I choose deflexus over springerii anyday

ming is more branchy and has a stiff woddy stem, kinda looks like teeny tiny ponderosa pine.

Good luck

The flat leaf parsley is a great idea! Also, there's Creeping Jenny-- it's a very dense ground cover that grows quickly and looks a lot like the fern in the picture. See pic below:

why not use maidenhair

you can buy maidenhair potted from your local plant guy - mine needs a couple weeks notice - but it should be easy to find.

I use it all the time!

So funny that you posted this... I have creeping jenny (money wort) in my yard as a ground cover! I think that in the end I'm going to use mint. The bride said she wanted everything to smell wonderful and specifically mentioned that she wanted mint in her bouquet.

Thank you all! You have helped greatly!
