This is one of 4 polls I am going to post, attempting to gain some industry knowledge, as well as extrapolate our number out into the total florist base.

One will lead to all the comments you want to post, under the despise catagory, so lets try to keep the individual threads relevant.

This poll allows multiple choices, the others will not.

Teleflora for most of this year, I dropped FTD at branch in April, but picked it back up at Main store this month. I have to say I do like the convenience of two WS memberships due to the volume and ease of sending to flower shops who are one WS but not the other.

OH yea, I do have some cheap member fees with both AND without the ancillary QA, Reciprocity, Low sending fees etc.

Oh and just incase this information is used to send orders.

$50.00 Minimum Order
$09.00 Delivery Charge
$99.99 Dried/Silk
$50.00 Arrangements
$50.00 Blooming Plants
$65.00 Fresh Fruits
$75.00 Funeral Flowers
$85.00 Roses Arranged
$50.00 Balloons
$50.00 Candy
$75.00 Gourmet Basket.

Because for some reason the OG's think that we will fill a $25.00 order for them. I swear they do it just to waste our time even though my Min have been the same for two years.

FYI, our "other" is IFA.

Geeze...

I remember when we were members of:
FTD
Teleflora
Carik
AFS
Bloomnet
FloraFAX
VNS
FloralSource
Redbook

At one point, I believe we were members of 5 or 6 at one time...

OH Boy.....Those were the days....
Being fairly new in the industry then.....I fondly recall Southern Retail conventions where all the wire services sent tons of product, a commentator, and a designer ..... as part of those old design panels that featured about 30 designers all going at it.....
Stopping by the Carik booth and getting the artist they hired to draw what they called 'CARIK-ters' of the convention attendees......
When AFS had the best design magazine out there.....PFD. I have kept every copy since 1989 save two......One of the ones that I don't have anymore was on FLOBS ( Floral Objects ), and the other one was a whole issue devoted to designing with plants.......
When Redbook was pushing their " florist school " series of books.....
When Bob Norton bragged about how great VNS was going to be.....we knew better though.....
When Florafax tried to get onto the sending and recieving machine bandwagon.....and Carik tried to launch their 'internet' order transfer system.....and lastly....when we would get that order in for that arrangement with the goldfish that Carik pushed.

I'm lost, confused as usual. This thread is from a year ago??? Have I entered the Twilight Zone?

Thanks, Joe!

Ricky, what are the years/volumes/issues you're missing? I can look thru the stuff I inherited when I bought our shop. Be glad to send them to you to complete your collection, if I have them :)
