What would you charge?

I have a request for this as a centerpiece. The only changes requested are a blue bow instead of green and more gerberas; less roses. Wondering what you would charge. (Just want to make sure I'm on track.)

What's in it???

Are we just to guess?

At lease $500, that's a nice piece.
I would stack grande bricks and design, and dismantle levels to transport, then reassemble.

Did the photo not come through? From what I an tell, roses, carns, buttons, gerberas, daisies, those yellow ball things that I can never remember the name of, foliage at the bottom, xmas balls, big fat wired ribbon...

Good idea, Thom. I was thinking a tomato cage in a design tray with foam inside, but your way would be easier to transport.

Don't know yet if we're doing 1 or several. Consult is this afternoon.

Yeah I came up with about $400 but may be off. $500 sounds better just because it looks like a pain in the butt.

Yeah, first a designer block taped to a 15 inch lome dish, second a designer block cut in half flat on a 11 inch tray, and then a grande brick upright on a 9 inch plate taped. Feel her out, you can probably suggest hydrangea to fill space more effectively and profitably. You can use sticks as markers when reassembling. Like a wedding cake.

Blues? if blue ribbon is requested use a wide ribbon, you can cheat on materials if you use the ribbons as design material.

That looks like a fun piece to make, I'm envious. Good luck today. I would feel her out and say the piece shown probably cost $800 and see how she responds.

I am often asked to reproduce a Preston look on a realistic budget. It is all in the mechanics, appearance, and perceived value. Useing large flowers are the most effective base. Grouping small clusters and knick knacks adds the detailed look.

This is probably too late for your meeting, but the tomato cage/tray with designer blocks was how this topiary was made. (The urn was provided by the client.) Overall design was approx. 5' tall.

I learned the tomato cage trick from Phil. :D

Meeting went well, but I just met with the coordinator. He understands floral budgets, but the overall wedding budget is pretty low. He said this piece is something she REALLY wants, so I'll probably suggest a couple of price points at different heights (maybe on an urn--thanks for the idea!). I'm sure we'll end up cutting a lot of what she wants. (Sigh) I have a verbal commitment from the coordinator; contract will be sent tomorrow.

Colors are based around the Florida 'gators--orange & blue! Thankfully, she's not asking for blue flowers.
