What would you charge?

I"m working on an estimate for a new client and want to make sure my pricing is accurate. What would you charge for this arrangement? I can't get a pic to upload, so here's the link: http://pinterest.com/pin/119063983868377735/

Thanks!

I guess it depends on a few things. Are you renting the vases or selling them? I would do your usual mark up on flowers and then add labor (usually 40% on wedding unless it's very basic design) then add the vase rental or sale.

Pretty hard to tell what flowers are used, but it's definitely stock or lilacs. Big price difference right there. Maybe carnations and I think I spy a couple of spray roses. And black pom-poms?

Anyway, if it were stock and carnations, I would guess right around $$400. If it's lilacs, (which I think it is and would make sense because I would guess there are 40 stems and lilac is much lighter) ~ more like $1000. NOT including the vase of course.

I see football mums, stock, maybe some hydrangea. But my estimation without a recipe close to 1g, not including that vase.

could the black be billy balls dyed?

those vases look tall and heavy and that whole arr is HUGE.

I think it depend on what you pay for the flowers. I pay 100.00 for hydrangea, .90 for chinas and .45 for stock. I was thinking I would use like 50 hydrangea, 60 chinas and 50 stock. That is not a vase I would care to own in the future so I would just sell the vase too.....It would have to go for 500.00 I would think. That is one of those arrangements that people show you and you tell them the price and they are shocked because they don't see any expensive flowers so they are not expecting the high price tag. I would have told my customer that it is 500.00 but then shown them a 150.00 or 200.00 option that probably looked better to them because I find customers often have a warped perception of how big something really is.......

850 plus vase rental of 100 - carnations and stock mostly

I am just curious has anyone here ever actually sold a 500.00 centerpiece? I haven't and I have pretty affluent clients. I sell 400.00 to 500.00 tablescapes maybe twice a year. These include a tall centerpiece, little satelite centerpieces and candle treatment. It just seems to me if the client has 500.00 to 1000.00 a table that there are a lot of better options.
I am also curious if you know the clients budget? My sales people show me platinum arrangements all the time and then tell me their client has 3000.00. I try not to ever quote more than 20% over a clients budget and even then I only go that high if they are really really set on a certain look. I am thinking since you are in Fayetteville that you might be lucky enough to have a corporate client who can afford a 500.00 centerpiece though???

I had a wedding a few years ago where the centerpieces were WELL over $500 each, and I have a wedding next month with some $350 pieces. This area does have some nicely budgeted corporate offices...and the executives that go with them. :) Mostly, it's the event planners that bring these larger pieces in. They have the knowledge and the vision. On this one, I'll find out the budget tomorrow. The planner has a rough idea of what we're looking at for florals and we'll be able to lock it in tomorrow. I have a feeling it will actually depend on the vase for this one. The event is in early March and nobody here has a similar vase.
