Thank goodness no one was injured and I'm glad it finally went behind a mountain. This has been a summer of fast rising, violent storms. One minute our farmers are thrilled with the season thus far... the next, their crops are wiped out.
nope but I was giggling the whole time reading this story because my husband fixed the pig farmer's walk-in freezer a few years ago and if you can listen in your mind to the most "down east Maine" accent, this is exactly how dry the pig farmer is. I can just hear him swearing at those pigs for flying away from him while he and the dogs pushed forward to the house/barn.
The mountain separates my town from their town area. We watch storms come around that mountain all year long...that one was the blackest cloud bank I've ever seen with darker swirls all through it.
BTW, he has the best large slab bacon.......
