I am looking for advice on the quality, size and availibilty of white peonys for early March wedding. My suppliers have told me they are
available but where are they sourced from.

Yes they are available, I had some last week, I don't really know what you mean sourced by, but they are coming from basically from everywhere right now,,,,

Thanks. I have been told they are more expensive this time of year.
So I wondered where they were grown-US, South America, Holland, etc

Also what about the size of bloom compared to when they are in season.

Lizzie ann, how would you describe your experience with June? I have often thought of using them for my weddings, since I can source anywhere I want for them, but have hesitated to use them for lack of experience. How would you rated the quality, product and shipping?

Sorry off topic! But if I don't ask now I might forget in ten minutes.:scatter

I love June for certain items. They have beautiful callas and cyms for lower prices than anywhere else I have found. I only use them when I need more obscure and off season flowers. They are great for items like fresh lotus, scabiosa pods, kale, and other hard to get items. They quality is always great. They are good with correcting problems. The only issue I've had was with flowers passing through customs.

Thanks for all your comments; they have been very helpful.

Do any of you substitute white garden roses for peonys? If so
have you been satisfied with the quality of the garden roses?

Fly, just checked it out. Look's great. Is this the one's you spoke of for 7.50 a stem?

No, NZ is off season on peony. I was quoted and advised not to buy by Seagrott and Delaware Valley. I ALWAYS TRUST MY WHOLESALERS!

I love garden roses, but my brides would have a hissy. If I can't get the right Peony, then I use Ranunculus or even pink Dahlias and my brides have been happy with those.

Yes, we have had some really good luck with garden roses.

It was a hard road to go down at first but then........we took pictures of a nice garden rose bouq. and got a stock photo of a peony bouq. with the photo's it seemed the brides were more open to the idea of the texture, style, look being so similar and the price being so much better they are Ok with it.

We always get them to agree first though we don't sub without the birdes full approval.

Thanks for all your input. I went with white peonys and there beautiful-
came in and opened really nice. My next quandry is hand tied or faux
hand tied??? Do peonys do well out of water for all the time required for
pictures and wedding?

Hand tied, finish off, leave the stems long, transport in water, take out and cut at the last moment. They will do just fine.
