ftd flowers wholesale
We use FTD Flower Exchange and get 3 cases a week.
We have been doing this for 1 ½ years.. We get Rio roses and the Esmeralda 15 stem mixed Bouq. We are very happy with the items.
ONE WORD OF CAUTION. Cold Chain…
The first year everything come out air, with very few problems. This Sept. we went to Cold Chain, which ships on a wed. travels by ground and arrives Monday. NOT HAPPY, we have had major issues with the quality. Any savings we may have gotten by having it come out ground is negated by the poor handling we have seen on the cold chain end.
The local guy stores it in an un heated warehouse, then it goes to a mini van and then to see the driver handle the boxes makes me insane. I always try to run out to grab the boxes before he kicks them down the walk way or stands them on there ends, aarrrggghhh.
We have switched back to air.
I like the idea that I can order it by 12 and have it in to me the next day by 10 am ( our FedEx guy is awesome and takes great care of it on his truck and will get to us earlier in the run so that they do not sit in the truck)
.
If you have quality issues, just like with flower buyer take pictures of the shipping label and the items and email it to them, you will generally get a call in a few hours to ask about it. Some times its the grower some times the shipper and on occasion FTD.
That said as long as you are comfortable that you will move the product we think it is a good move.
During SW and Mothers day we will bring in additional mixed bouquets. We will stay away from stock and snap in the bouq. But other wise have been happy. The Gerbera that are coming out recently are far superior to what we have been able to get from our local wholesaler.
As with any thing it comes down to quality and numbers, best of luck.
