Has anyone out there ordered wholesale flowers from FTD Flower Exchange? If so, what can you tell me about it. Give it to me -- Good or Bad!!!

I did years ago when I was managing a shop that was FTD.

They had specific packages of flowers that went into specific containers... This was at Mother's day.
And I will tell you, I was a one lady operation then. The owner of the store moved to another city and I hired a woman to come help me a few hours at night... And I had one pt phone order taker... Other than that I was on my own.

Now the flowers were just fine. They were fresh and filled the vases perfectly, with a little left over. The snaps were a little puny....Like florida snaps are. But other than that, it was convenient, and easy and worked out great for what I needed at the time.

Yes, I have, rarely a problem, any issues have been handled appropriately, and I don't have a complaint with them. Shop the specials, and watch your shipping costs, to make sure of your pricing. Snaps are not my favorite thing to get from them, so watch that as well. The hot buys can be a very good deal.

ftd flowers wholesale

We use FTD Flower Exchange and get 3 cases a week.
We have been doing this for 1 ½ years.. We get Rio roses and the Esmeralda 15 stem mixed Bouq. We are very happy with the items.

ONE WORD OF CAUTION. Cold Chain…
The first year everything come out air, with very few problems. This Sept. we went to Cold Chain, which ships on a wed. travels by ground and arrives Monday. NOT HAPPY, we have had major issues with the quality. Any savings we may have gotten by having it come out ground is negated by the poor handling we have seen on the cold chain end.
The local guy stores it in an un heated warehouse, then it goes to a mini van and then to see the driver handle the boxes makes me insane. I always try to run out to grab the boxes before he kicks them down the walk way or stands them on there ends, aarrrggghhh.
We have switched back to air.
I like the idea that I can order it by 12 and have it in to me the next day by 10 am ( our FedEx guy is awesome and takes great care of it on his truck and will get to us earlier in the run so that they do not sit in the truck)
.
If you have quality issues, just like with flower buyer take pictures of the shipping label and the items and email it to them, you will generally get a call in a few hours to ask about it. Some times its the grower some times the shipper and on occasion FTD.
That said as long as you are comfortable that you will move the product we think it is a good move.
During SW and Mothers day we will bring in additional mixed bouquets. We will stay away from stock and snap in the bouq. But other wise have been happy. The Gerbera that are coming out recently are far superior to what we have been able to get from our local wholesaler.
As with any thing it comes down to quality and numbers, best of luck.

We buy from them and they are usually as good if not better than our other sources.
Another advantage is that you are not putting out cash for the product. The product is charged against your monthly ftd statement and this makes a big difference in your cash flow. That alone is reason enough to use their flowers, assuming similar quality and price.

I considered FTD flower exchange....But WHY would I buy from my main competition, and lower there cost so they can direct ship in my area for less.
I also stopped buying anything from the in their market place.
containers. supplys Ect.
If I buy from my wholesaler in case lots I get better pricing and they dont compete with me.

Thanks, all of you, who took the time to respond!! The flowers will be coming in this week for V-day. Thier prices are way better than my SE Wisconsin Wholesalers (whom I love, by the way) With the economy the way it is, I was so undecided about how much to order this year. We are (as we all are) hoping for good walking business on Sat. and lots of deliveries on Friday. I am a small shop. I designer and me and one jack of all trades gal who does mostly computer work and displays, bucket scrubbing etc. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!!! Yellow Roses aka Karen

we've been quite happy with the quality from FTD Fresh Flowers for a couple years now....

Thanks to Cricket for the info on the cold chain deal!
