I guess they have to look like they're doing something! Maybe they'll turn it into a competition between them and FTD! Wouldn't it be funny if, in the heat of battle, they terminated tf.com and ftd.com!!! lol

now if FTd willjust get rid of them too

This company has mislead so many of my customers that i finally bookmarked their home page so when my customers call I can check out what they are seeing and direct them to my site..
FTD needs to look at these people too

Glad To see it!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see it. They seem to be picking these guys off one at a time. Wonder where they'll go next?

I guess UPS & FedEx will be getting much busier, as these types follow Urban in boxing em up & shippen em out!!!!!

Time will Tell!!!

But lets chalk up another temporary win for the brick & morters!!

Hey guys, this is tit for tat.

Lovin Blooms has sent most of their orders via TF anyway.

Just Flowers et al moved the bulk of their orders over to FTD a while ago (lured by a bigger rebates AFAICT). I know they were still using a few TF product images but I *believe* they were actually suspended from TF last month or the month before.

If it's becoming fashionable to announce these moves, then goody!

Now, when both of these OG's get booted completely out of the WS biz, we can start celebrating. (Then they can fight it out with Urban. )

Added: We have not received a Dove message regarding this, btw. Was any reason given as to why they were suspended? (Not that we don't all know - it's just nice when you see it in print. LOL)

You mean once TF and FTD get rid of all thier OGs :) But then another WS will just pick them up and florists will keep perpetuating the problem. OR if the OGs were smart, they’d cut TF and FTD out, hire a call center and then have the florist fill the order... like Urban does. OGs will never go away as long as there are WS and florists supporting them, which means never in a nation built on capitalism.

And fyi, some might know this and some might not, but butterfieldblooms.com is owned by FTD and is built on sending flowers fresh from the farm, not OGs. How do I know? I also use a farm that supports butterfield, that's how. I've been bugging the floristdetective about posting that info, but I guess only selected info is posted there. :)

Hey florists. Wanna do something radical to put Proflowers out of business? Shhhhhhhh come here.... closer. :) Ok did you know that all of you help support Proflowers? Well indirectly. If you only knew which farms Proflowers was in bed with, then you could find out if your wholesaler bought from that farm, if they do, threaten your wholesaler you are going to take your business to a wholesaler that doesn't support a farm who supports businesses like Proflowers. :) You all complain, but will you be this extreme? lol Ok so it might not put Proflowers out, or maybe it will, I just wanted to you to think about this problem from another angle. :)

I've had too much coffee today and spent an hour talking to Jerry on the phone, so I'm a little giddy right now.

Have a flowerful day!!

For every Action there is a ReAction

It's nice hearing all this justflowers and Urbans and others getting the boot but somewhere down the line this means less orders flowing thru the clearing house systems.
Where will these lost generated dollars get made up? Increased Fees? More QA Fees?
I wouldn't go jumping for joy just yet........May 01 would not suprise me if the membership fee's climb up a little.

Like I said, you won't lose any of these orders, until florists quit supporting them. All justflowers will do is find a WS that will filled their order or just set up a call center, that when a order comes in, the employess finds a sucker florist to fill it. Until something comes out on the net that ups the anti or trumps what is doing now, i.e. OGs, FFtF, WS, these three will remain king.

Hot Off the Press

From today's SAF e-brief:
Teleflora Enhances Quality Monitoring

Teleflora recently removed Just Flowers from its network after repeated complaints from its members, says Jonathan Cutler, Teleflora's director of public relations and corporate communications. "They repeatedly violated our rules and regulations, including order skimming," Cutler says. Member feedback has driven a recent "enhancement" of Teleflora's quality monitoring program, he says. Besides order skimming, Teleflora's quality program monitors incorrect substitutions, late cancellations and deceptive Internet advertising.
Emphasis mine.

This is the first time I've seen that actual 'skimmimg' term used with these guys. Good.

Seems that the quality assurance program is now addressing advertising. Double good.

PR Cloaking at it's Best!

Just in time for Mother's Day!!!!! anyone care to answer why a clearinghouse is willing to give up Huge Volumes of Orders making the members feel warm and fuzzy?

Those orders in the system are just not going to disappear, they will be CLOAKED somehow.

I thought of that too Blue! It could just be a coincedence that TF also recently started sending out TF.com general orders from thier site via the system. Didn't I see a post about new TF orders coming into shops with some new general .com code?
