Does anyone else have this problem. Several "hits" but no buyers? These are my stats:

Date User Sessions Page Views # of Orders
August 2004 663 719 0
September 2004 709 818 0
October 2004 661 1,403 0
November 2004 364 601 0

4 Month Total 2,397 3,541 0

Any suggestions......... :boggles:

I don't think the stats are very accurate. I have called them about this more than once - I have 2 sets of stats with missing months

Have you looked at the referrer report, called "Top 50 Referrals" to see where these hits came from? We have long-noticed a large discrepancy between the Traffic Report and Referral Report. For example, our referral report ratio reflects just 18% of the total user sessions shown this month. Those 'user sessions' could be spiders or other non-customers so I basically ignored those numbers.

On a related note, your primary URL seems to be an FTD template-based site. It shows inbound links from other sites so this appears to be the one you're promoting the most. Your TF template shows zero inbound links.

I'm guessing that you'd get orders via your .net site if it was the one you marketed. None of these template-based sites (or any other site for that matter) do well without promotion.

Just my .02. Hope this helps.

Here's the first thing that jumps out at me. The people that visit your site click onto 1.47 pages / visitor. That means most people are leaving without entering your site at all! For comparison, our sites average over 7 page views per visitor.

You have to ask yourself, what is it about your TF site that does not invite people to view further? Is it time to change the template, or perhaps get more of a custom design? How inviting does your site appear to your customers? Is it easily identifiable as belonging to your shop?

Thanks for the input

Yes, Rosie I do not promote my TF site as much as my FTD site. I do get orders via the FTD site. My .com site used to be my TF site but then I switched them around and made my .com the FTD site along with several other domains. Even when I had 4 domains pointing at my TF site, I rarely got any orders. Since I switched the .com and .net AND pointed all the other domain names to the FTD site I get alot more web orders. Just trying to figure out if maybe I should just illiminate the TF site all together. I do not pay the $60 a month for it, but IF I get an order I pay a higher fee to TF than the standard $1.95. That pricing was set up after I complained to TF about all these hits and NO orders. Maybe I should just can that site and just use the FTD site. Thanks for all of you comments.... Sylvia

Hello Sylvia-
I would like to know about your non-$60/month but higher feel deal that you have with Teleflora if you are at liberty to discuss.

They have a program with no monthly fees but a $10 per order charge. It's what I am on and before you tell me I'm crazy, I know that, but since I get hardly any orders anyway - what be da matter? My stats show 10 orders in the last year. But I think it may be higher than that like 12?

no monthly fee - $10 per order

And, yes Bloomz, you are right. What does it matter if your not getting any orders.

Your best free traffic comes from three sources:-

1. Search engines - requires SEO effort.
2. Directories - all the big floral directories plus DMOZ etc
3. Reciprocal Links with other floral related sites.

Don't bother with any traffic generation schemes. They don't work. FFA's just fill your mailbox with spam. Banner exchanges have very poor conversion.

The importance of the floral directories and reciprocal links can't be under estimated.
