After our messages, we type in our name, but we have our name in our signature, we have beside our avatar, so then why do we type it again?
Curious mind wants ot know?

Some people will put their real name in the signature. For example I am GFLORAL but I might want to sign my posts David.

It's also a carry-over from letter writing, part of it is an carry over from the MOO/MUD/MUSH online game community. It's considered polite to sign your correspondence - netiquette was a big thing back before we called it the "Internet" and back when many of us were online through the BBS/FidoNet communities. There are people online who know me as Nadrah, Savil, Muirghein, Andais and/or Ravenna - in email, it was considered polite to sign your "real" name. I always have.

Multiple names, infinite possiblities

Glad you asked

I always sign as Knife's Wife because I am not flowerknife just the wife. We post from the sam computer so I don't have a seperate heading. If there is a way for me to have one I would like to know because although we are married we are individuals and do share different opions at times.

Have a great day!!

Knife's wife

I tend to only add in "Mark" on posts of a more personal nature, ones that require a more personal touch....
