why don't wire services put ALL sending florists names on incoming orders?

We have been receiving orders that don't list a sending florist, we get "WD shop not found" instead. Called TF to ask why. I told him we want to know who is sending orders so we can decide whether to do the order since we do not accept orders from FU Flowers,1800, JF and a host more, I feel this is a sneaky way for those OGs to send orders that we don't know about. He assured me that was not the case and this is the good part; sending only florists are not listed so we don't accidentally send them an order. OK. I asked him if I could get a list of codes for all OGs (and I gave him a list of names) and sending only shops so we can differentiate from legit shops. guess what no List that he knows of. Then he says that Teleflora sends their orders to us with codes only and that we can differentiate theirs , real florists and the OG orders by the prices given, if they are too low then they must be an OG. After I stopped laughing,I said from my perspective Teleflora was just as guilty of under priced orders. He quickly let me know that HE didn't have anything to do with that part. IMO , Bottom line they don't want us to know so we will keep merrily filling all the OG orders until there's no one left to fill them, then they can start direct shipping

Most likely they are from known gatherers that are having trouble getting orders filled. I think the game changed a lot this summer, as many of us connected to many others on social media....

TF lies just like FTD and 800F does... they all have their order gatherers...

I have had a lot of hits to my website from Organic Bouquet. When I click on that link it shows Organic Bouquet, if I go back to my report and then click again it go to Just Flowers. Why are they looking at my website? Have told them I do not fill for them. They haven't called me so why are they looking?

I'm quite sure Boss has the right answer. So many florists are rejecting orders from those og's that are consistently troublesome.

I call it extremely unfair, bloomstoady and justflowers have such a reputation for having completely effed up orders that florists don't want to deal with them. I imagine this is the solution the ws came up with to cloak the name. It's too bad they don't understand WHY nobody wants to fill for them with their ridiculous cancels after the delivery has been made.

not sure if FTD still has the ZA alphas after the code number, but that did mean "sending florist only" - which I would not fill for. Play the game fairly or don't play at all...my mantra.

haven't seen a "ZA" for a while Rhonda...but, you are correct!

One on the yellow books came yesterday and after looking at the florist section "Rick had to shake head", all their ads say" Delivered by YOUR local florists"....they are now taking a new spin on that.......

A quick look found that Just Flowers, Blooms Today, and other sending only FTD members still have Z- suffixes on their code numbers. It may be ZA or ZB or Z- something else. Others, like New City in New City NY and Flowers in Cambridge, MA, have AA (or AB, AC, etc.) because they are also storefront florists and do fill orders. Anyone heard of FTD member
"800FLORALDIRECT" in Southfield, Michigan? The listing says that they're on Telegraph Rd., not on Woodcreek Drive, but they seem to carry every FTD branded product known. A few years ago there was a "florist" by the name of Butterfield Florist in Downers Grove, IL. Something seemed odd, so I tracked them down. FTD is at 3113 Woodcreek Drive in Downers Grove. So was Butterfield Florist. Butterfield Road crosses Woodcreek Drive near FTD headquarters. It seemed to be a mythical flower shop used by FTD to gather orders. If you Google Butterfield Florist now you get redirected to Just Flowers.

I think that's highly unlikely. I think JF just latched onto the name, the same way they would (and do) latch onto any florist search they can. And an important correction: "Butterfield's Florist" is legitimate and in Farmington, MO. I should have typed "Butterfield Flower Shop" but sometimes my fingers go faster than my brain. Of course, lots of other things go faster than my brain, too.

Huh. Developer extraordinaire... of sorts.
