Just had a merc order come from an unidentified shop no name , no phone nothing , send an ask for the shop to ID itself , got a call from HQ wondering why I was questioning the order, Demanded to know where the order oringinated , was told it was a house account , that the shop was not a FTD member but sent through HQ. I was met with a stunned silence when I asked why I am paying mebership fees and anyone who wants to send can without paying for the priveledge . Is this common place or do they have exceptions for certain shop and people .

I have been asking about dues for quite some time....
1. Why do multiple shop locations have to pay dues-per-shop when multiple URLs only have to pay once? Each is a separate 'store-front' with a separate name and as evinced by the Order Gatherer Registry, some have tens, even hundreds of URLs.
2. Why not just route orders through one of these OG's? Really! Some are paying up to 19% commissions. No dues, no hassles, earn your commission and forget about dealing with over-promised, undersold wire-in orders.

3. Please note that #2 means you no longer need to be a member to sell or send branded products...The only folks truly 'requiring' membership are the fillers....yup, us...
4. We get to pay *extra* to say we will accept wire-in orders for neighboring towns ...but very, very little is being done about the deceptive advertising by companies claiming to 'service' our towns with bogus claims and fake addresses.
Wire services used to be the marketing glue that held this industry together. Instead of 'Togther, we can grow' it's now 'Each man for himself' and/or ' Yes, but... we're not as bad as (points finger at different company).'

Not a new subject...
We've talking about "stealth" orders for quite some time know. It is not new. The WS are getting so they don't need new sources of "senders", because there is a long line of them. They just need fillers now. I'm willing to bet that many of these new sources of "senders" never get rebates either which is another reason to protect their sources.

Its beginning to be a hassle as 1 out of every 2 0r 3 merc orders is like this , even got a call from field rep today asking if I was having any problems with filling orders , nope just the ones that are skimmed before they get here, not filling them or anything else with them , shag em. Got one from a certain outfit in Texas (Floral Alliance) forwarded to someone else who promptly demanded $20.00 more , they called to see why we wouldn't fill , told them not filling for any OG.
