We can do it...why can't the wire services...

Imagine one of your customers calling you to inquire what their account balance is and you have to tell them "I don't know (how much you owe me) and I won't be able to tell you until the 10th of next month", but "by then it will be different and I still won't be able to tell you an exact amount".

Why can't the wires use real time accounting systems? Why can't they give me an exact account balance? Why are they not upgrading their systems to better serve their clients?

I can tell my customers how much they owe to the penny minute by minute, charge by charge, order by order...and I know how much is owed me to the penny...

Am I asking too much?

I think part of the problem is those of us who choose not to use their overpriced systems and report at the end of the month, therefore they do not have up to date filled order charges.

It is because some florists only send in their phone ordered items every 3 months or when they get around to it....It is all because of the tird party stuff that they do not have control over....

How many orders have you had that were never reconciled because the dumb ass florist never bothered to submit.....because they have no clue..

I know about non-reported orders....thats OK by me...

I'm talking about, anything, up to the minute (what they have as of today) balance information...

Called one of them, the check has cleared my bank, and they still don't show it on my account, and won't be able to "see it" until the next statement run... :hammer:

Not on my list of priorities, but you do bring up a good point. I don't see why they can't incorporate a daily online statement. Heck, they expect an answer from us in two hours, the least they can do is give us one back in less than a month.

Nope. Not asking much at all!

But, you know this answer. It's one of those "Mystery questions of the florist's life."
My father often made mention of this years ago.

One would think the w/s accounting would be MUCH better these days. It's been this way for generations.

I am very frustrated with this as well. This month my statement had $300 worth of charges on it that were wrong. It took me six different people to finally get it cleared up. I also had a check clear at the bank for what I "owed" them and it didn't show up on my statement.
It is funny that when you owe them money, they want it by the 25th, but if they owe you, there are so many errors that it takes months to clear it up!
