Lily of the Valley pound for pound I have found is spendy where I live. Certain fresh cut orchids too, like stems of brassia and Sherry Babies.

Most expensive I've seen.

Gymea Lily from Australia saw one last year at O.F.G. Sierra brought it in wholesale price $150.00cdn each. They have a very strong "smell".

I have a BEAUTIFUL crop of Lily of the Valley that grows around the North-Eastern corner of my house in May...some of the nicest I've seen, and have used it only 2x since we bought the house in 1998. It is only "usable" for two weeks and two weekends...that's it! The previous owner's wife was a garden nut - lucky for me with my my Hort degree! We have all kinds of STUFF growing around...the Lil of the Val, Magnolia, and Wysteria are our show pieces for the front yard.

Have you ever seen pink Lily of the valley and lavender lily of the valley. My grandmother had it growing in her yard, when she died in 1982 my mother dug some up and put it in her garden. 5 years ago I got some from my mothers garden and have it growing. It has a smaller leaf but the bloom is almost as big as the white. Unfortunately it is much slower to spread. The white around here takes over the garden you plant it in, but the pink and lavender will get choked out it you don't keep it weeded around it. If your ever in NY I will give ya some to start. I found it in a catalog one time and it was ten times the price of the white.

Reminds me of a Nerine Lily on steroids.
