for real?

I find this EXTREMELY hard to believe, first of all is this a authentic newspaper. i just cannot in a million years believe they would give a 19 year old, and more importantly someone with NO experience with weddings this important job. don't know,... something fishy here. but if so, what a coup for this young lady!

She is a basement Betty! I would highly doubt that Charles would have silks at his wedding, he is a master gardener and a certified organic gardener. He spends thousands on flowers when hosting parties, why would he have cheap silks at his wedding? This is very odd.

Oh those Brits!

Sheesh! First Tony Blair boasts that he's never sent his wife flowers and now they have a 19 year-old Basement Betty provide fake floral decor for a royal wedding.

The story appears legit. I did find a few quips about the wedding flowers.

This story might explain the silks.
Knowing the Queen's legendary thrift, be prepared for wilted table flowers and curly curried egg sandwiches.
Fresh flowers were indeed used in some spots
Thousands and daffodils, lilies and other softly-hued springtime blooms have been arranged throughout the venue, with three rooms in total prepared for the gala.
Additional info about the flowers says:
There were white and pink lilies, camellias, hydrangeas, red and white roses and blossom, all displayed by eight Buckingham Palace flower arrangers.
Looks like the silks are a minor part of the decor. This young lady has certainly learned the art of PR since the story is being picked up all over the web.

I didnt watch the wedding...

I didn't watch the wedding, but the article says...

Leiane Fallon, of Hill Avenue, won the contract to provide white and cream silk flowers for the ceremony, which is due to be held on Saturday.

It doesnt specify that she would be making the bouquet. It just says for the ceremony...perhaps she created alter and pew flowers. I imagine if they had that many flowers, they had several florists, each handling a portion.

I watched most of it.. had the day off.she carried a little hand held group of what looiked like silk garden type flowers, all white.. and small..

that is what she carried in the church ceremony.. not showy,,, just kinda there.. she put it aside in the church behind a pew and retrieved it just before they walked out..
altho the reporters said it was a very nice ceremony filled with lots of thought I thought it was sad, few flowers, the Queen & spouse didn't sit near their grandsons, didn't speak at the ceremony, didn't kiss the bride or groom, only accepted a curtsy & bow from the couple,, the music was strange to my ears,, almost sounding german for one song..
Walking outside the church the queen stood behind the cuple, never really next to them, never touched them at all.. in fact she didn;'t even touch her husband,, not even holding his arm as she walked out
funny watching him mutter the words to God Save the Queen,, not really into the song,,
and best of all
althought the queen & hubby and the prince & new wife each had a car to take them up to the castle,, all the rest of the family & quests climbed into a bus (a tour bus Windsor Tours with the phone # ad righton it) and that is how they went up to the castle... I almost fell off my chair wathcing Princess Ann climb into that bus...
The reports did say there were thousands of daffodils decorating the castle reception but it was not shown on TV..

My how different things are this time around..
