It seems like we have had a run on new applicants.....I notice Ryan and Boss fielding some of the welcoming, I will assume that some sort of mass new member email went out....Nice job folks. here's to hoping we get a few really good posters in the bunch...Looks like there are quite a few seasoned florists and some newbies in the mix, should be good to get some new input into this here board to liven things up a bit....

haha Isn't that funny! I was just thinking that the other day. There is this new "shop" in town (I use the word shop loosely, horrible dollar store silks in scuffed up containers.). I went there the other day to introduce myself/snoop. When I left I was thinking about FC and how I was wondering how I would vote if she wanted it.
I would want to say no, but how could I? She fills all the requirements. She is IN the industry.

But still, Yuck

This would be a touchy subject. If a shop from Williamston SC other than my name joins up....CALL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And run for the hills....
All jokes a side, I have thought about it for the two years I've been on FC.It wouldn't be good. This woman is something else.If you only knew half of what she has done your eyes would bug out.I couldn't take it. Already cost me $$$'s in more than one way.

You guys, there are at least 4 other florist members of FC within 5 miles or so of my shop - and many more from our county. Hasn't stopped any of us from posting.

Just contribute info where you can and use what you learn if it fits your company's needs.

Remember, a lot of folks read but never follow through.

I have no porblem with anyone from my area joining, I would definately watch closer to what I say about area happenings, but I wouldn't stop posting for sure...We are all in this together, why are we so afraid of our competition, been a member here since 2006 and I have learned a whole lot fr so many, but I definately have not gotten the holy grail of secret industry info that I would be afraid to have my competition on here, nor do I think I possess the secrects that I would be afrain they may steal from me....

It could be a good thing if neighboring shops link up here on FC and share the down and dirty industry with each other, it could lead to change for the better.

Remember folks, the Social Groups offer you a private area to share "secrets" away from prying eyes (competitors).

I was just saying to my fellow board members that it would be nice if we could organize enough of a group of us to buy things like tulips and mums and poins in such bulk that we can compete with the grocery stores....it would be so nice to be able to organize a group like that and get buying power, but so many are leery of doing that, getting stiffed on someones portion of the bill, worrying about someone elses product problems...etc etc...it would be such a great opportunity, yet no one can trust each other and their business practices to get 'er done...or trust each other enough to know what each other paid for things, it is all so silly...
