The Alabama State Florists' Association received notice this week:

FTD will no longer provide designers to any function other than our Annual Convention.

I wonder what would happen if they were not invited???

Has any other Association gotten this notice?????
 
Too bad all those good District meetings are gone. those are the meetings where the Districts had money to PAY for good Design talent at a local event.

Just another reason Not to be FTD.
 
Our association has not asked for sponsored designers from FTD for a while. Teleflora gladly sponsors them which is a good break on the bottom line for us. But FTD has sponsored lunches, workshops etc. It will be interesting to see if we get this notice.
 
I think they dumped on the MFA as well... I'll have to check...
 
Our SC Board is meeting Sunday. This will surely be a question that I'll be asking.
 
no they are not talking about conventions of the wire services, they are talking about the wire services cutting back from being at the state and local level district association seminars/conventions. There has only been 1 year which was 2006 the FTD convention was not at one location, it was divided up to several cities so more people could be able to attend financially and distance, along with the dates were spread out over a couple of months for convenience as well. Not that I cared for it in 06, because if you are in Texas you ended up going to Dallas 2 years straight, WOW..... so boring hm ha.

But anyways I would still like for it to be in 1 city but different cities like before, but who knows how it will be now.
 
At our meeting (Board of Directors, SC Florist Association) on Sunday, I asked if anyone had heard about this, and noone had received a letter or other notification.
