1-800-Flowers Q4 & FY 2010 Numbers Continue to Slide

Maybe.....

A convoluted look at the numbers, based solely on outgoing orders (gathered from 800flowers.com) can be modeled to generate more cash flow for the mother ship by sending them through FTD or Teleflora, as they would keep the 20%, lose the 7% but gain the REBATE dollars and with their potential volume they would most likely more than double the 7% loss and turn it into income. Also, they would retain the dollars currently being paid in REBATE dollars to other senders...

Obviously this is not necessarily the scenario going forward... but you can see they have options....it'll be interesting to watch...

And that my friends would be the oportunity of a lifetime by puting an end to 2 out of 3 ws overnight by not supporting whom ever decided to let 8--flowers send their orders through it.

That should be the new goal of the independent shops

I would agree............I never got it that they had to try to create their own network, when they have two that would welcome them with arms wide open..............Also, the infrastructure alone is enough to choke a horse....................

I don't think so. I think they have two many orders and perahps don't want to share there information. Even though Bloomnet is fairly new they have always been a "wire service" . 15 years ago I would get a statement showing the orders I got from them and how much I would get paid. At that time there was no monthy fee, no bloomlink or transmission charges etc.
