Unfortunately, his conclusion was that the next time, he'd just go to Kroger. Since a real local florist did such a horrible job, can you blame him?

OMG that is so ugly!!!!! WHY WOULD any florist send something out like that, I mean come on, if you have those flowers at least arrange them, UGHHHH. BUT then again I don't fill orders for the OG's and alot more REAL florist don't so I guess they are getting whom ever they can to fill them huh!!

It made me sick to my stomach to think a real florist would send something that looked like that. 1-800 should pull the plug on that florist. Just think about it, this florist is giving all of us a bad name, bad design even with a limited amount of money is bad design.

I don't think there are any quality control standards with any WS despite the "Non optional quality assurance fees florists are charged monthly". bottom line is, they will sign up anyone to fill orders, it makes the floral industry look like crap.

Not a Real Florist

One reply was "It makes me sick to my stomach that areal florist would send sometning like that"

I doubt that it was a "Real Florist" that sent that, because all the REAL FLORIST don't take orders from those @@@@ OG's.

Must have been a "Basement Betty"

Maybe we need to coin a new name... FLOWERCHAT Real Florist :wide:

The blog identified the deliverer as a local florist, perhaps I should have said local brick and mortar florist which to me is a real florist. This arrangement did not arrive by a shipping company according to the blog.

I want to cut this in stone somewhere.

"Jeremiah's Gardens & Floral is the new generation of florist, WS free & now sending free"

It's been about 3 weeks being send free, I've helped about 20 of my customers find the best way to save money, talk to the towns florist directly, give THEIR c/c, and keep me out of the middle. So far so good, they have all thanked me. And Cathy's example is exactly why, along with my 2 recent botched outgoings.

Just shackin Genoa,Il. up somemore.

Rod,

So if a B&M florist takes orders from FTD.con or TF.con that means they aren't a real florist? I'm not a wire service member but your statement confuses and intrigues me. Please elaborate...

congrats on being Wire Service Free!! Its the only way to bee.....its also the only way to get rid of OG's. The Wire services have used and abused the florists long enough. It's way past time to put a stop to the degradation of this industry by all these fake florists that rip off the public and the Wire services that encourage and support them. Kudos to you my wire service free friend:yourock:!!!!

Me too - last time I checked I'm as real as they come. Let me look out my office window - yup looks like a real florist shop out there to me.

:tunes:

I agree the product delivered was totally unacceptable no matter what the order was - at least design a decent tussie mussie if you can't do any better. Florist should have done better...but on to my favorite subject of how much I LOATHE OG's....I bet the florist was given no specifics and very little money to fill this last minute order. I say this because this is what happened to ME....

The order that made me finally say NO to ALL OG's was one from FTD last Mother's Day. What the customer ordered was not at all what I had in stock. I TOLD the FTD rep that and he said it didn't matter, just some gerbs in a vase was what they wanted - even after I looked at it on their FTD site and saw it was designed in a code container. Sooo...I reluctantly filled it AFTER trying to refuse it 3 times. Well, wouldn't you just know it was WAY OUT IN THE COUNTRY - 20 miles out from my shop and the customer called to complain about it on Monday. Said her daughter spent $65 on it and it was UGLY and not in the teapot, birdhouse, whatever the heck the container was supposed to be. (By the way, they only gave me $34.95 plus deliver - my minimum!)

That's when I decided NO MORE OG orders...NO TF...NO FTD...NO Nothing unless it is a REAL florist!!

I guess he has updated his blog. Im not aware if anyone else has read the following.

[quote/] UPDATE:
I’ve noticed some traffic from flowerchat.com and I have gotted a couple of good comments from (I’m guessing) members there. I tried to sign up for a membership so that I could see the thread related to my blog post… however you have to be in the flower business to read any threads at that site… and as I am not in the flower business, I did not try to complete the registration.

I’d like to welcome all of the visitors of that forum to leave me some honest comments. I am a web designer, a graphic artist, an online marketer, a consumer & an ex-business owner. And with those titles I feel I have a right to rant, rave, and discuss anything related to what makes for good marketing, what makes for professionalism in a business. I also know that my readers expect me to be honest.
I find most of my source from personal experiences. Almost like a secret shoppper. If I have a problem with a company or an opinion about someone’s marketing I’ll voice it. I give a chance for the companies to respond and avoid hiding any of the details. It’s kinda the whole point of this blog (minus the presonal BS tossed in).
So with that said, and with the fact that I can’t take part in the forum thread at hand… I welcome all discussion on this topic. And I look forward to your comments.

Can we look at his blog please. One of his 'categories' is @@@@@fest. This man has NOTHING significant to say.
It's sad that this happened, but, do we know for sure that it really did?

By listing this on flowerchat, we've yet again given someone his 15 minutes of fame that he does not deserve.
I think posting garbage like this every time it happens makes the floral industry look worse and worse and worse and worse and...

Mistakes happen (big ones in this case). I'd like to see us all start posting all the wonderful stuff that happens in our shops day to day instead of worrying about some order that we didn't fill in the first place.

Opinions vary. jenny

Thanks Jenny! You are so RIGHT! I fell into the trap of "feeding the bad wolf" again. Hey BOSS...can you repost that old legend about the good wolf/bad wolf that you posted a few years ago?? I think we need to read it again.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Some else did... HERE

I think that positive posts would certainly be welcome. However, I think you have to take the opportunity to respond to bad publicity when you can. Regardless of who his is audience is, someone reading buys flowers. I, for one, get very tired of "flowers are a rip off.. florists cheats customer..." comments. It's our profession and we should put ourselves in a good light when we have the opportunity to stand up to negativity.
I posted a comment to his page, for what it's worth ~melissa
