They use Monster Trucks for target practice in that neck of the concrete. You may want to reconsider, the three of you dead stuck in a jam all day, don't forget lube. :bootyshak

We don't need no steenkin concrete! :ssmoke

Seriously tho...

I do know what happens to DC with 1-2 inches...

Best wishes to anyone in the eye of the storm...!

Current forecast for South Jersey 10-20"! Here's the good news folks...it's a proven fact that ~a little white Christmas~ makes shoppers get in in the buying spirit! Saurday and Sunday could prove to be troublesome, but just be glad we will be cleared out by Monday when flower orders typically accummulate! I say...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Oh and the heading for this thread: every girls dream or would that be every-boys dream. :) :)

Derned tootin it's every boyz dream..."your fish was HOW LONG??"

Getting ready to be in the eye of this storm ! We are 5 minutes NW of Frederick, Md. expecting anywhere from 12-24"

It's getting crazy around here and it hasn't even started yet!

My husband just came home from work, he works in DC it usually takes about an hour, took him 3 hours to get home. Everyone is running to the malls and the grocery stores.

We were supposed to have our Christmas Party tomorrow night.
Guess we'll be makin "snow daquaris" with the neighbors.

Heard a reporter call it " The biggest December snow storm in history"
(can we say...over re-action)

It'll be a fun next couple of days.....

Last night and today, Miami and South Broward ( Hallandale, Aventura, Dania etc) got pounded with rain that it is over car hoods in some places..saw a pickup truck where the bed was completely underwater. Really rough in some spots....the rain was so hard, that it hurt...
Today my area had heavy rain in Broward but north of us, some folks are being removed from homes by canoes and jon boats. Electricity is out in many places so this storm is a mean one for many states. We are suppose to be in the 40's by Mon...yeah I know...but for us that is cold...
Ya'll take care of there...
Sher

Thom...we now have some forcasters saying up to 16 inches. As you know it will be fun on 95, 495, 295 and 695. It may be good, if shoppers can not get out and finish their shopping, ordering a gift from a florist is an easy thing to do!!
Have great holiday!!

Um, hello!! and amen.

We changed our road sign

** Let It Snow! **
Shop From Home
607-9013

We've got 3" since 6am this morning, just got to the shop & I'm on my way out to shovel. We pay $150 for plowing our driveway/lot, so since we won't be delivering, I'm goint to save that $$ if it takes me all day & tomorrow morning.

and yes Jan - DV was here already this AM - couldn't believe it when Jim said they were delivering today. At least I'll have beautiful open alstro for Monday - thanks!

OK...I must have been dreaming of a white Christmas, but today reality hit really hard! Made it to the shop by 8:30AM, told staff to stay home! Had a funeral and called the funeral home to tell him I was on my way and he told me the funeral was cancelled! WTF? I had 6 pieces for this funeral-it was a Memorial Service. Funeral director says it is not going to rescheduled. Called customer and did not receive an answer. Now...what would you do with charging this customer? Refund entirely, partial, or expect him to pay in full? All pink flowers that had to be special ordered!

Absolutely no business around and now I'm thinking this could hurt...unless the flowers orders come jingling in on Monday...I could be ready to ho ho ho out of there after this dreadful year! Sure does make ya sleepless! I am not in the Christmas spirit and downright exhausted from the anxiety, worries, stress, guessing games...etc! Bought lottery tickets on my way home!

We are expecting 24 inches of snow by the times this storm ends early morning!

What no pics from anyone???

And Dianne, I'd refund the total.

Dianne...your customer needs to pay you in full....IF he/she had advised you otherwise, then maybe they have a case,BUT, you're ready to go....so, get paid girl, don't be 'fraid!

I think that would put dreamy eyes over the edge Mark...

Mikey,

You are feeling my vibes! LOL! Never mind! Seriously...Mark, I believe a total refund is the right thing to do, but in this case, I think a compromise is more realistic. Honestly, I just can't afford to take any more losses. We spent a lot of time making these arrangements. Designers will still want to be paid for their time, the flowers are all pink, and can I reuse them for Christmas?...doubtful! Should I take the loss just because my heart says I should? I'm so tired of it all...nothing seems to go right anymore when it comes to the shop. Mentally exhausted!

Mikey...you didn't say what you would do??? Other friends in biz actually felt he should pay the entire amount. I am looking for opinions...especially if you've been in this situation!
