I have been in this business a long time, but I have never received an order and a follow up response like this.

the order, It's Your Day Bouquet" 8inch vase yelo alstron, red carns, yellow buttons, orange mini carns, purple monte casino, salal tips, tree fern

this is no big deal i have done this order for 800 many times in the past.

However, what is new is their price.

$19.99

someone here at the shop sent an inquiry message. "is this the correct price? The delivery alone is $7.00.

800's response.....

"Hello, you will be paid at the regular price for this arrangment when payments are made. Please check your emails for we. have sent one out on sales for this month arrangements. Thank you and have a nice day."

i sent them a new message. I need to know the value of this order before I can send it out. I don't know what you mean when you say 'check your emails' Please send a price adjustment.

This one goes under the category of HUH!?

I would reject that one!! Even if they add the delivery charge. What happened to ws having a $25 min. starting price? Lately I can't find a shop anywhere that will take an order under $40.00.
Seems like 800 flowers is the worst for sending these crazy orders. Good luck!!

Wow, that's a new one. Could the response have been any more vague? I was wondering how it works when the WS offer sales and expect the florists to honor them. I'm so small that I couldn't make it work with their regular prices, so how are we expected to make it on $19.99 delivery included?
This is a little off topic, but it has been concerning me that large OGs and WS are advertising extreemly low prices. I think it makes the consumer think that I am way overpriced. It is hard to compete with $19.99. The local grocery store doesn't even carry arrangements that low.
Any thoughts?

Um, no... sorry I missed the memo...

Reject! C-ya...bye bye now....

Hey Joe... how ya gonna keep track to know you got paid the right amount...?

This is absolutely ludacris....I am starting to really hate 800...they may be going bye bye very soon..

Geez this is a doozie!!! 1-800-cheap-flowers

perhaps they meant 1 of each flower 1 alstro bud, 1 mini carn etc.

I agree with Boss how on earth r u going 2 track payment on that?????????

Scratching my head........

the crazy thing is we are competing against ourselves when we have their web sites with them....duh....duh.....will we ever wake up and make a fresh batch of coffee....

Oh My! They're even shipping made up arrangements. I just had a look at the site. There is a birthday hat to ship overnight in a special box. Wonder how that will look frozen on a doorstep.

Joe,

They've been doing this for quite some time now. Every month or two they advertise a couple arrangements at a discounted price as a promotion, but the florist will receive normal value on their clearinghouse.

It will usually mention near the top of the order, the promo price and the the price you will actually be credited for.

okay, but how do you account for this order in my POS?

When we reconcile our monthly statement, we will not balance with this order.

also, I am not a member of 800flowers.

this came in via Dove/TF.

Now it makes sense as to why you weren't aware of the promotion.

Seems the aspirin for this headache would be to REFuse the order.

Nah!!!!!

no aspirin yet for this headache. let it fester for a bit. Afterall this is a TF order not a FTD, so I am not bound by the refusal time limit.

I will probably cancel it tomorrow, if they don't send me a hard copy Dove price adjustment.

You scared me Joe I thought you became a bloomnet member!!

How to treat this order on your SPREADSHEET!

The simple accounting solution for a $19.99 anything in 2008, is to create a CELL called JUNKYARD, and place it there with NO OTHER PLACES TO GO!

Any REAL FLORIST filling this kind uv junk should exit to the rear of their shop and find a sharp object to impale yourself on, and then, FALL ON IT!

At least then, your END would be quick, rather than suffering a long and painful death!

For any of those who have to SLEEP ON IT, and without making an IMMEDIATE DECISION to REFUSE IT, OH PLEASE!

You have really got to be kidding us! Aren't you?
