There's nothing innocent about it Michelle. It's an utterly brilliant plot to hork your customers with your help while looking you straight in the face.

This tells it all

He told me he set up the websites for it, and gathering emails was his forte. His verbatum quote was "I'm very good at building email lists."

Did they ask anyone if they wanted that banner on their site?

Didn't think so.

On that other matter of the findaflorist deal - back when I had a tf site - I called them and demanded they remove it from my site. They did.

Another way of horking your customers on your "very own" site.

I find anything either of these two gorillas (TFTD) "offer" you best be met with healthy skepticism.

They take full advantage of the knowlege that most are asleep at the wheel.

Think I could get y'all to put up some fliers in your shop for me?

I'll pay.

No place for local florist on TF Mom site

I went to the TF site to see what people had to put on the nomination form.

Never anywhere did it ask for my store code.... An earlier comment is correct...If you don't go to the site on the form you hand out, there is no place for your store to get credited for whatever it is that you can win as a florist...free product or something or other. Never any mention of a local florist! I think this says it all in a nutshell.... Wire Services are there to make a buck and not really to help the local florist.

I'm running my own Mom of the Year and working with other local merchants, (hotel, restaurant, massage, etc.) to put together a package for our local moms to win.

In order to nominate a mom, you must register...That is where the florist info is. Without registering you can't leave a nomination...Also, only the entrys from florists are eligible for the florist prizes not tf.com..so I understand it this way. I am going to read the rules tomorrow completely.

I just tried (without using the /florist) and you don't need a florist info or code.

And, the contest link is on tf.com also, so I think that isn't accurate.

A F M Vase

Mrs. Bama would like to know (can't get her to ask it herself) if anyone has priced out this one sided arrangement?
Based on the TF Recipe.

I did, I priced it at $54.95. I can't price it any lower based on my cost.
Fact most of the products are priced higher than their SRP.
I am not sure if I am way off in cost here, but I will double check prices this weekend.
What do oyu get?
Luc

Basing your pricing on the TF recipe will not help as the recipe is missing most of the flowers in the picture...I called TF and got no response to this problem....It is going to be the major headache for the holiday..

So I would imagine that since there was a major mistake with the formula (I'm sure it was an accident:faint:) You have two choices.

First one I would tell Teleflora to either adjust the national price or adjust it in the cost of the container.

Second If they don't agree then create your own image of the product and sell it at your price and tell them you won't be filling any of their orders.

We did this a long time ago with some of FTD Mothers Day Products and FTD Valentines Day Products (Minus the Jewls around the pink vase) and we had our own hit without filling a single order.

Oh man Lori your right around the corner of htting 2000 post. How did you do that?

Eric, I have the gift of gab....Now if I could just get my mind wrapped around talking to the public in a blog. I would probably be doing myself some good...

As for the Mother's day container...I told them to cancel my order for the vase if they didn't change the pricing of the posters or something, hence the non response. then my dad passed and I lost focus of it,,, now it is too late. I will just be glad to get rid of them. i will let them know that I will be filling them with the recipe and will stand my ground with the complaints, Well maybe I will be spiteing my face by cutting off my nose...screw it I don't know any more...I know I will not be buying too many more TF holiday crap...If I can'r sell out completely I don't want it at all. 800-flowers stuff sells so much better...the containers are cheaper and better quality comparatively and they come in small packs 6-8 per...Much more doable and hardly ever holiday specific...

Not to be left behind - I see FTD is doing a contest for a Win a Cadillac for Mom deal - have to study it a bit to see if it's as brilliant.

I just did not think about not advertising the product...too busy...you know...have to work 6-7 days a week for 60 hours or more to pay for Telefloras fees.... I am awake now and will not fall for the hype again!!!:bangles:

I see in their newsletter that one florist went as far as going to the public schools and getting all the kids to sign up their Moms. They got a gift card for giving up most of their entire customer base!

Wow, how exemplary!

Twila noticed today that we have 5 of those big poster cardboard deals from TF behind a table that we haven't even opened and said I guess we should throw them away if we're not even gonna use them.

We used to but I quit with the Diamonds and Roses deal at VD.

They gather dust here too - sometimes I'll cut them apart and use pieces for words scattered around "give sweet" near our chocolates ... at least it's something!

I swear we are related. You say and do so many of the same things that I do! :)
