Bill Martin, third generation florist, owner of Martin's, the Flower People for 45 years, past president of Flowers Canada and tireless advocate for the retail florist passed away late this afternoon.

Funeral details are pending at this time. I'll post them when we've made the arrangements.

Grandad was a longtime Rotarian and a Paul Harris fellow. He was also an accomplished woodworker, crafting many fine pieces for his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

We're going to miss him - a lot.

Ryan

Very sorry to hear of your loss.
Our prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.

Dear Ryan and family:

I'm so sorry you have lost the physical presense of your Grandfather. What a great legacy he built; a future for the family who follows. He will be missed, and well remembered for the difference he made. And he will continue to live through all of you.

With Love & Sympathy

Dear Ryan,

My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your dear grandfather. May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead. As a Rotarian, I know that your grandfather lived his life dedicated to the Rotary mission and believed in high ethical standards in business, personal and community life. Rest in peace, fellow Rotarian. You have lived your life well.

We are thinking of you here in Alabama. I just lost my Granny in July and it is still hard. She was my inspiration for opening my shop and I know she is still there guiding me.

thoughts from here too...

As a fellow Rotarian and PHF, I share my feelings also.

I love the shop name, "Martin's, the Flower People", as this showed Mr. Martin's ability to communicate a powerful message, simply.

Being a Paul Harris Fellow, Mr. Martin learned what it took to have lived a fullfilling life....

...in Memory of Bill Martin:

The Rotary 4-Way Test:

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to All Concerned?
Will it Build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all Concerned?

...these are the thoughts a Rotarian is encouraged to Think, Say and Do!

Condolences Ryan.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Ryan. Hold your memories close for comfort.

Ryan, my sincere condolences....your Grandpa was held in very high esteem throughout the industry... keep him close in your heart.
