Bloomnet gone as of april 30th for me

Looking to drop them also--never even get a call back from my rep--can you tell me the CORRECT way to drop
Thank you-Thank you!!!!

I have completely given up on hearing from my rep. I have had three of them in two years. I called customer service, I was VERY VERY POLITE. She told me I would still have to pay membership fees until the end of April because the new directory just came out. Fine. Whatever. She said send a certified letter to them before the end of April.

Guess who called me? My rep! Hah. But he called to tell me that he actually wasn't my rep anymore, and that the new guy would get in touch. Yep. Many calls from bloomnet today, because I turned my computer off, it isn't reading their orders.....nope, and neither am I. Very freeing, I'm actually super busy so far this month without them, apparently God was prodding me, I don't think I could handle all of it, and would much rather put my time into working for myself instead of Bloomnet.

Still a little ranty, aren't I? Sorry, they just truly steam me, and that isn't the easiest thing to do, mellow is my middle name.:ned

I read earlier in this thread that you want to be sure you don't end up with another selection guide, $300 I think, so get the certified letter out before they can tap you for that, too.

I'm out and been out for about two years, but a funny, I guess, story about those cakes.

Just after I joined I got an order for one, it had obviously been rejected by the shops in the town it went to some 27 miles from us.
Being a team player, I made and delivered. Beautiful if I may say so myself.

Then came the problem...sender had seen it displayed on a glass cake stand. You guys know what I'm talking about. Because BL didn't have descent descriptive info. back then, I could not convince them that the cake stand was a prop only.

Then God stepped in, this is what I did. I took a small cheap 4" glass candle stick $1.00 at Dollartree, they also had a clear glass plate saucer size. (I had used the clear big plates on a big wedding with lots of centerpieces a few years prior) I got something called 5000glue comes in a tube is clear and drys clear and fast. Made a cute little cake stand and made them happy. No help from BL!! Cost me two bucks, but God paid me back as I've used that ideas lots since. Great for wedding table centerpieces.

Everyone can use that idea it's free.

Blessings!

what a bloody awesome idea......I'm gonna give that a shot

it seems like an ENORMOUS waste of time getting "OUT" of 1800/Bloomlink...you guys are SOOOOO nice.....when WE went thru this some 3 or 4 years ago, though we WEREN'T members, we were THEIR "preferred" filling shop, and when I "asked" how it WAS, that we GOT this way??....
The rep gave me a beautifully, explicit, and colourful "explanation" of how WE'D see the TRUE value of THEIR service, and that we had ALREADY been "signed up", for some time....<WHAT??>...
I was very polite......i told hime to "F***OFF, on the phone, my staff just stopped....
"I'll get the manager.......Hello, this is &&&%%%###, we have you RECORDED, you CANNOT speak to ANY of us like that".....I said "like WHAT??"..."WHAT you said to my operator".......I paused......
I said "I'm sorry....I guess I should have asked for YOU, and THEM told you to F***OFF.
The phone went dead, our "membership", was cancelled, we were blacklisted, NEVER heard from them again....
I "discovered"...sometimes you gotta be gentle, and sometimes a little less.
By the way, my wife just about threw a knife at me....

I just wrote a letter to my rep with attention to Bloomnet and resigned. I had no problem, however I had no local rep and had not had a return call from him since the day I joined
I called bloomnet customer service and asked to speak to a customer service rep concerning membership. They put me in touch with someone within the company who became my rep. I told them that the rep I had on the local level was not working out and if that was the best they could do then I quit. That was within the first year of membership. I had someone in the company as a rep from that day forward and he is who I resigned to. Hope this helps.

I am attaching the letter that I sent Certified, Return Receipt to Bloomnet to cancel my membership. Please feel free to use it. It was so far very painless. Just one phone call from the rep asking me to stay with offers. When I log in to retrieve my statement.. my inbound orders are on suspend. They got my message loud and clear!

To Whom It May Concern:

Please cancel my membership as of December 31, 2009. I wish to no longer be association with Bloomnet nor be a filling florist for 1-800- Flowers.

As of January 1 2010, I will not received orders, fill orders, nor pay any membership fees, or directory listing fees, so please see to it that I am not in any directories either.

Please note this info, and I hope you can pass it on in the future to FC members who want to get out of Bloomnet (or the other w/s). This seems to come up alot here. (I will be out of FC at the end of Jan. I can't take advantage of all the valuable info for florists here, I became an FC member only to help answer your questions, and I am unable to pay to do it...it's been a rough 2 years for me financially too!)

Please deal with someone of authority to cancel your membership, there is a big turnover with c/s reps and new ones that aren't well versed will give you erroneous info. Send a registered letter, don't delay. And, PLEASE, follow up if you don't get a reply! You must cancel well before the next publication deadline in order to get out. The deadline is always 60 days (or more.. they keep changing that too) prior to the new book. If you wait 'til the end of April, you will be a PAYING member through the next directory as well, until your listing can be removed.

For ANY questions or concerns about anything, I would deal with someone "in charge." You can find people of authority and their photos/contact info at the front of the Bloomnet directory. Gino Marotta is the head of the reps. The regional VPs are also listed there. Send any of them an email -- [email protected] You can email your rep if you know who they are -- there have been so many changes, though and your rep may or may not be there.

Please, do not rely on the info you get from the person who answers the phone at c/s! I've seen countless posts here by florists frustrated with c/s depts they've spoken to at all of the wire services when they have issues. You DEFINITELY need to talk to someone of authority. And you definitely need to keep on it and follow up if your letter or question is received with silence as a reply.

Wow, Bloom Link makes the others look good! We should try their startegy with our customers.
Dear Mr Smith,
Below is a list of the people we have decided you are sending flowers to this month. To cancel these orders we have placed for you please send us a written cancellation by registered mail with in 24 hours.

That's a great idea!!! How do you think it will go over with the general public? LOLOLOLOL

My certifed/return receipt letter got sent today. It referenced my attorney should they have any furthur questions. I did, however, agree to their charging me a minimum monthly membership fee for the newest directory listing. Which has NEVER listed the city I'm in, they just can't seem to get that right. 2 years, different reps, they charge me for an extra listing for my city! Good grief, I am sooooo glad to just turn away!
