We have had one of the cheaper version of the grind and brew for the last 20 years (ever since we were woken up by one while visiting friends). While a little noisy (because of the grinding) they are great and the smell is fantastic. You can also preset them the night before. Sometimes you can find the lesser version on sale at $50.

I never drank coffee either until I went to Venezuela, and then it was all over.
Nothing like what some companies pass for swill, I mean coffee here in the usa.

ever since then it's been a quest for the good stuff.... call me a snob. but an addicted one.

I've tried coffee in many incarnations... loathe every one of them. Even while in Costa Rica, where coffee is a mainstay, I couldn't get it past my nose. I do like the smell of freshly brewing coffee, but it sure doesn't taste the same way!

I figure I've come all this way without it...
