Can you "resolve concerns with lack of order volume"?

The first time the FTD guy came into the shop I was pleasant and took his little books and info, I was a new owner and wanted to be polite to all the salespeople. The 2nd time the FTD guy came I said, "Why would I want to send flowers for a company that competes against me and does everything to ship the orders direct?" He said, that they offer those things as a convenience to the buyers but the #1 goal is to get orders for the flower shops. For some reason he has never been back :)

Any chance the lack of volume is due to the number of florists leaving FTD?? That's all the talk out our way. I will be done after 34 years on May 1st!!
yes and no...mostly yes...FTD 's "business model" <sigh> is coming to an end! :)

Ryan, I think you hitthe nail on the head with today's newsletter. Florists chase incoming orders to the detriment of their shops in most cases. It takes a very smart operator, with a high volume to make even pennies on incoming orders.

I still don't understand why folks think this is good for their business. Yes it used to be, but now 38% or so of the sale is leaving the industry. Not good business to assist those removing the potential profit margin from the industry. But yet, florists continue to shoot... at themselves.

FTD's koolaid is NOT at all like cannabis......it's effects have NO effect on some florists

Tom!! Just got back on Flower Chat. I'm going to be out of FTD as of May1st. Last Mother's Day almost killed me, after all these years. Between FTD.com and Just Flowers orders prior to that Friday, left me with 67 orders to do before Saturday morning!! We had our Mercury on suspend Friday and Saturday. The florists here in Vermont are watching a bill work its way through our Legislature that has to do with deceptive advertising - such as Just Flowers, WesleyBerry Flowers, etc do on the Internet using our names, along with the yellow page ads of Just Flowers in our marketplace. We no longer fill any of Just Flowers orders and they will disappear when we get out of FTD.
So I see you haven't retired yet!! Hope all is well. Bonnie Hawley
