nice try rick :)

but I am going to steal your "worth it" line to use on my customers.

My hubby give me gifts year around. Hot meal on the table when I get home from work, clean laundry (I do have to fold), clean bathroom (never ever liked that job). and a plowed drive and parking lot. I don't really miss the Christmas gift. ( I knew it when one of his first gifts to me was one of those puffy quilted coats that make you look like a marshmallow - any girl will remember those - think romancing the stone) although I can usually find a bar of good dark chocolate in my stocking.

married for 26 years and working on the next 26
I'm with you Kristine.

My hubby is really good to me. He does all the same things your hubby does it sounds like.

My hubby does bring me flowers at valentines though.

The thing I love to get from my husband more than ANYTHING when it comes to gifts) besides all the nice things he does for me) is a greeting card.

The reason why, he is the type of guy that will go to a million different stores looking for just the right one. But I usually get 2 or 3. They are the kind of cards that fill my heart with love and make me sigh and tear up. I love that kind of stuff. And he's not that way just for me. He takes his time picking out cards for all the women in his life, his mom his sister, MY mom!!

Now, a card from me,,, not such a big deal. I can pick out a card in 30 seconds or less. I pick funny or direct ...ya know like "Merry Christmas and Happy New year" love, shannon....
That's how I roll.

Shannon,

Actually...I'd prefer the stripper pole and platform shoes to the TV & DVD player! Now that type of gift...shows imagination! Not to mention the pure enjoyment he would receive from the gift! Whew!

Funny post, Shannon! Hey...I forgot how it gets when you're married! Thanks for the memo...I'll stay single forever!
I should have known!!!!!

Navy, being married is great if you are married to the right person. It's not a bad thing, it's comforting to know someone is there no matter what.

Seriously, if this guy is "the one" you'll know, and if not, well... keep lookin' he's out there somewhere. You'll find him when you least expect it.

As a woman I sometimes want something with a cord and a plug but my advice is never get something with a plug unless a woman asks for it specifically. For me, sometimes it is something that I want but don't need and therefore won't splurge on.

Normally, women don't want anything that refers to work in any way such as pots and pans or cookbooks. I however would have loved that cookbook but that it me! :) Most want something to pamper themselves. I want a massage when Christmas is over!!

For many (myself included) the gift of time spent with the loved one is the best.

Perhaps I learned this working within the funeral industry, or after my dear father's sudden death, or just by virtue of moving forward in age and life. It's no longer about the things I accumulate, it's about the time people I love gift to me.
