i would probably do it just like a composite rose. Much easier than wiring and taping everything like in the old days.
There is a great video on composite roses (which you could adopt for glads) on ubloom. Look under links here, someone posted it before.

I really do think you should do a practice one before your 2 weeks are up. Maybe even do 2 or 3.

thank heaven for adhesive in the tube. :) and yes, practice.

Heat-Smeat. With the use of crowning glory.......making sure it is boxed well, you use good fresh turgid flowers, - They'll hold through a typical ceremony and reception.

I done enough of them to know.

I love the glue method, but I HAVE done them the old wire and tape method.

Glamelia! Very glam. Love 'em!

I am an old timer, too, then!

I have a glamelia story....its a doozie.

My sister and I had a shop together, and one busy afternoon, she was taking care of one customer and I was waiting on someone else.

Her customer had asked for a glamelia, and being the good girl she was, she said "Sure! We can get that!" She had NOT A CLUE what one was, but promptly, she took the order and their money, then proceeded to call our wholesaler to order this glamelia. I did not have a chance to stop her, and in the background I hear her call and ask them for....

.....are you ready for THIS?

Chlamydia.....

Yep, she called and ordered a sexually transmitted disease. :purpletea

I am wildly shaking my head and trying not to wet my pants, but to no avail.

Chlamydia...glamelia....honest mistake for a newbie? I NEVER let her live it down. Neither did our wholesaler.

Way to go Ricky... I forgot I was taught this in a class I took last year. I didn't know what it was called tho. I'll watch this tape later. I was taught to wire and tape. In making a rose, glue was used instead tho.
I did know what you all were talking about after all. Nite nite.

I made a glamelia (all wired and taped) at Flowers Canada. I received an A+. I hated it and vowed to never make another one. Now, with glue... may change my mind. ;)

Never will forget......the most AGGRAVATING bridal bouquet I ever made used all glamelias....it was a long cascade.....and it took about 9 of those darn things of different sizes......combined with roses.

Took forEVER it seemed to make those things......wire and tape back then.

I can tell you this.....by the time I was through, the shop staff had learned some new curse words from lead designer Ricky

That does not look bad. Couple more times oughta be ok.
