I think thats not a bad attempt at all using really bad old blooms .Well done .
The STD thing is hilarious ,thanks for a ggod laugh on a mad Monday lollol

Not only Gladiola used to make composite flowers, We used Roses of course, and even tulips in spring.

A composite flower of roses was known as a Dutchess Rose,

A composite flower of tulips was known as a Princess Tulip,

Love the things, glamilleas that is!
I have to make a casablanca composite this weekend, with feathers added.
Sometimes you just shake your head.
Enjoy!

Looks nice!
I've done quite a few composite roses, and one time I saw a show where they did a composite stargazer cascade. I think the composite design is nice, you can make something that doesn't exist in nature.

Jamese, I would like to see a pic of the lily composite flower, how do you get those things to not wilt? Played with one once was wilted by the next morning.

Beautiful job on the glamelia!

Composite Lily

Here's a photo of a composite lily we did in one of our advanced classes. I love them! You will be surprised how long they hold. Just be sure to hydrate well and spray with crowning glory.

On a side note - we teach the glamellia using the glue technique in our basic classes. They are hated and then loved - I recently made one to wear in my hair for a luau. It looked like a hibiscus bloom.

Leanne - If you really want to stir some 'emotion' for the glamelia - try getting your students to do what I had to one time fairly early in my career.....I had a cascading bridal bouquet - used 9 different size glamellias....( This was in the days of wiring and taping those dam' tings ). Suffice it to say that by the time I was through.....the other designers in the shop had learned some new words.
