There is - It used to be known under the brand name - "Mum-tite". Design Master had it I think. It may still be a marketed product.

I don't have them this second but lucky me, I have wholesalers close enough where I can have anything in their cooler within an hour.

I answered yes, but actually we only have them at two locations out of five right now.

They're not in the cooler as I type, but yes we've have several colors and sizes in the past couple of weeks. They're beautiful.

Get them in, process them, design them and get them out. In reading another thread about special order flowers I was a little surprised. We intentionally order different types so that our orders stand out from the rest. Step outside the box, come on, you want fall.

got some in for a wedding and they look great! The ones in my yard, not so great but I'm always here so I don't miss them. Also saw them at the local farmers market, look good.

Petal Proofer

Marcy told me today she heard that there's a shatter spray for mums?

The one I have is "Petal Proofer" by Design Master. You spray the backside/underneath the blooms. Spray the flowers when they first come in. Keep the flowers out of the cooler for a while so the fumes disapate. Otherwise it stinks!

Thanks Lesha,

I'll give it a try. I wonder if it would help to seal them if I were to float them? I learned a lesson last year and floated wide glass with white dahlia. When to load in the morning and everyone just fell apart.

do not have them in stock but can get them if needed....I love dahlias but, find it hard to get the perfect bunch, always a few damaged heads IMO, so we tend to stay away unless we have orders for them or unless I can pick some nice bunches off bucket truck that comes by everyday.

I have also had a lot of brides asking for them, they seem to be popular along with ranunculus and peonies!

Home-grown Dahlia's have been available in Colorado for about a month...still going strong even if the grower/wholesaler lost most of their roof in a storm last week.

These dahlias are 10.95 a bunch for 5 stems!
And although beautiful, are not lasting more than 2 days.
Maybe the storm shook them up a bit more than they thought....

Funny enough, we had a florist call us and ask if we had dahlias in stock today. I figured it was someone from FC. :)

Nope. They had a unique design on their site that a customer wanted delivered in OC. Only problem is we had white and yellow but their site featured reds and burgundies. We were able to sub so the order did get filled.

TF has been using dahlias in some 'everyday' arrangements for a while and I wondered how often they actually got delivered 'as shown'. Not likely too often.

We have em! Local farm $1 a stem! :) We're very blessed to be on the west coast.

It'll be a great day (soon) when the original question JB asked will never have to be worried about again.

Will there be unicorns too Daze?

Please say yes.

I used to grow the myself, which made them affordable, but this year they all died. (ouch) If I buy them from my local lady, she charges 3.00$ each!!!
They don't last more than 3 days,
Huge difference of prices here on flowerchat! I can't imagine how a wire service would feature such a regionally diverse product, given that the prices are so varied.
Anyway, mine suck this year, and I'm not willing to pay the price for the others, so........................
