Entire country in grips of arctic onslaught

My 20 year old daughter just messaged me this morning.

Her car won't start, even though the block heater was plugged in.

Only -34 with the wind chill this morning...she says it doesn't feel cold (ya' right).

She's desperate to get to Tim Horton's for her morning coffee...AND THAT'S THE ONLY REASON SHE NEEDS HER CAR TODAY!

Makes perfect sense to me.....excuse me tho whilst I go brew my own.

if you get lemons....
...make lemonade!
When life hands me lemons--I grab the salt and hunt down some tequila, but not this early in the morning. Sigh, I guess I could squeeze some in my tea.

Taked with my aunt in Thunder Bay yesterday and the windsheild is -40 or something. I invited them to come visit for Chistmas. Crazy kanooks, but we love 'em.
Sending out warm vibes.

"The Canadian Prairie provinces are currently enduring wind chill values of between -40 and -50 degrees!!!"

Actually I do think it's cold. We've been having warming temperatures for the last twenty years and a 5 degree daytime temp with wind and gusts to 25 miles an hour is cold, very cold for this area.

I live here for the specific reason that I lived on Minot Air Force for three winters in the mid 60's. I know what cold feels like. I know how to dress, how to walk so I do not fall, how and when to drive, and the value of a block heater. I like a more moderate temperature.

have a great day...and make every second count!

Or lemon chiffon ice cream!

woo hoo the sun has finally peeked out right now!!! I shall bask in its light inside my office as I sit on the space heater. :)

Me and my many layers just walked the dogs after work. The little one (old) wears a coat, the beagle blend, snowplows her way through the snow with her nose and head.

It was brisk and invigorating and honestly a laugh a minute over Dusty's silly antics. After a very busy day stuck inside, the walk and the air and the falling (and blowing) snow was needed.

And I'm a happily crazy Canuck from Timmins and who used to live in Thunderbay (before it became TB). :)
