You ALL have made me totally jealous!!!!!!!

Once upon a time, before the store and before kids, I had a garden and canned the proceeds from it (sigh). Granted it was a sad little city garden behind my garage...but it was a garden none the less. Now I can't even find a decent farmer's market (that happens on a day I can take a few hours off).

So while you are all feasting on the fruits of your labor (literally) think of those of us who are stuck eating crappy canned and frozed grocery store food, and dreaming about your homemade/home canned goodies. My pity party & I are going home now...hungry & unsatisfied.:corky
Amy -- have you ever looked into a CSA? (Community Supported Agriculture) -- you sign up and pay a set amount, and each week you get a bin of veggies. Usually you pick them up at a predetermined place in your neighborhood. Google for CSA and your town or county, and see if anything comes up. It may be your answer!

we did CSA this past summer at the shop. we all shared the CSA. Gotta say, It kinda sucked!
The best part was the spinach though, oh and we did bread shares, that was pretty good.

Shannon:
reading your post has made me SO HUNGRY!!!!!
YUM - YUM!!!!

If you have any left over, send them to Pennsylvania. We are always willing to taste test anything.

My Mom & My gram were great canners. Mom promised to can pickles and maybe jelly when she comes up nest year. with my luck, it will be on a super busy wedding weekend......

Have a great holiday season,
Cheryl

We did for a few months too. They actually delivered the boxes to our front porch. Only problem was so many of the veggies were odd... brocolli raab, kale, something else I can't remember. And there wasn't often enough of any one thing to feed the 6 of us.
