Gotta plug the Honda Element:

- Tailgate is perfectly flat and is designed to bear weight
- Floor is flat and rugged
- A drop-down flap covers the gap for the hinging area where the tailgate attaches, so the floor is consistently flat from the back of the front seats to the end of the lowered tailgate
- Interior is water proof
- Just shy of 100,000 km - still purring

I like the Elements too, but Honda (they're not the only one) does lie about the gas mileage, and that is just about job #1 these days. (I have 3 Honda's if you include my motorcycle) Our newest we paid $1000 extra for their super duper new thrifty engine which runs econo mode on 3 cyls, and yesterday it got 19 MPG - whoop tee doo, the dang liars told us it would get 10 more than my 03 Oddessey, which gets 17-19.

The Element would have been a great one except for that mileage, and they told me 22 which I knew was a lie - what do you get Ryan?

I'm sure the Scion isn't half the vehicle (ours sounds a bit rough now at idle with 15,000 on it, but I'm not worried) the Element is, but that mileage is the deal with us.

Mileage is good - can't give exact numbers right now, but it's the first generation so I know they've improved since then.

The only maintenance has been tires - I don't think we've even had to do brakes yet.

Scion MPG?

How many miles to the gallon do your Scions get?

Our Honda Element averages 19 mpg, much better than our 11 mpg Ford E-150 vans.

Our Scion averages about 28mpg for everyday delivery - long distance it's upwards of 34 or so.

Bout exactly the same here - 28-30. The savings over the Odesseys more than pays for the $195 a month payment. Free cars. And I love to drive it around town.
