Are you attending AIFD Symposium in Palm Desert? Would you like to meet up for an unofficial FlowerChat Get-Together?

Looking at the schedule, the best times appear to be on the two 'open' nights; either Sunday, July 8 after Induction Rehearsal (since Mrs. Bama has to attend ;) ) or Tuesday, July 10 (unless you've bought one of the $300 tickets to rub elbows with Preston Bailey).

We could do a no-hosted dinner at a local Restaurant if we have enough vehicles (I'll have mine), or pick one of the in-house restaurants although the wait will be long with so many folks trying to dine at once.

I'm going to print up small business cards with the FC address to hand out to friends old and new.

Thoughts?

Great minds sometimes think. . . .

alike.
small business cards with the FC address to hand out to friends old and new.
We will have a car also and would like to invite another couple (not really a couple, just friends, but Andy was inducted last year and Mandy will be this year).

I will have to double check with the Mrs., 'cause Mary Linda Horn keeps volunteering Kathie as a helper then mentor, but I think Sunday sounds best for us. (Andy and Mandy are rubbing elbows with Pre$ton)

Thanks Cathy. .

Cathy, that sounds like a great idea. Let me know what you come up with and I will try to join the group. At this point, I don't have definite plans for any of those times.

So Sunday sounds good for everyone. :)

I'm thinking reservations at 7:00 since the rehearsal can take and hour and it's a 10-15 minute drive over to El Paseo (the Rodeo Drive of the Desert) or one of the other restaurant areas in Palm Desert. Or we can go into Palm Springs (25 minutes or so).

How about Tommy Bahama's? Great food, fun atmosphere.

Or Macaroni Grill? Italian chain, fun atmosphere, too.

or there's also a Chinese restaurant across from the hotel but I forget its name...

There's also a fun Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs called Las Casuelas.

Or if anyone else has a suggestion....

AIFD symposium

Cathy, I suggest you go ahead and set this up using your judgment. They all sound good to me. Marilee, does that work for you since we were going to meet up?

I may have 2 extra guests to bring along....is this a problem?
Carol Bice

Hey, food is food. Its seeing and being with old and new friends thats important......... but I do like the idea of the Palm Springs restaurant. I believe I've been there before and really enjoyed the atmosphire as well as the Mex food. Count me in . Carol bring 'em along. The more the merrier!!
Marilee

While I will not be able to attend symposium in Palm Desert......I may be attending AIFD Southern conference and will be attending Chicago symposium.....would love to meet some of you all then

We are open to any of the suggestions. . . .

We love Mexican, seafood, never been to a Tommy Bahama's, (if I understand their website, Kathie will want to shop :))we have Macaroni's here so it wouldn't be as adventurous.
Count us for 4 reservations.
Thanks

I took a look at the driving distances and it's at least 30 minutes to Las Casuelas. :( Being the hour is so late and the first program starts at 8 am on Monday, I think we're better off sticking closer to the hotel.

I'll make a 7:00 reservation at Tommy Bahamas. (The store there is a fun place to shop. Unfortunately, the other area boutiques will probably be closed at that hour.)

Will need a count so please let me know how many will be in your group and whether or not you'll need a ride. Plan to meet in the main lobby at 6:30. :)

AIFD symposium

Cathy, put me down for three people. We can always take a cab if there are not enough cars.

Can you say TOASTY. . .

Possibly 120 deg F later this week.
How long do they expect the flowers by the pool to last?????:bow_flowe

49C for our friends who speak celsius.

Funny to think 105 is 'cooling off'.

Here's the list so far:

Mr. & Mrs. Bama and 2 friends
Coby & Izabetho
Carol Bice & ?
Robin & guest (Mylords Alaska)
Bill Shadowski

Please let me know of any others by this evening - I'd like to get the reservation made by tomorrow AM. If we have add-ons, even as late as Sunday, I'll do my best to increase the number.

We'll be arriving Sunday morning and I'm not sure if our hotel room is registered under my name or Phil's. You can always reach me on my mobile at (714) 743-4790.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. :)
